[WIP] Tri-Pirate Mod Beta Three Released!!

And a Music Mod to boot.

I am finaly releasing my Tri-Pirate Mod, beta Three.

My Pirate Mod started out as an attempt to weld the Pirates into a Unique playable civilization. With a quality that rivals the original game, and a completly new way to handle the economy.

Pirates don't colonize, Pirates don't reaserch (very much). And Plundering is the only source of happiness!!

Latly however, this endevour has become much deeper. With Stiener Giving John Skalavan a face (leader of the pirates), and Fileosoft giving him a comand ship. This mod has become an epic quest to flush out John Skalavan. To bring his truth to the world!!


This beta contains the entire structure of the pirates. All the abilities are finished as I currently imagine them.

All ships are in place and the reaserch tree is complete!


Only things this mod does NOT contain

Complete models (Most are TEC standins at this point. So as of yet, screenshots still don't show anything worthwhile)
Most 2D art are stadins. (More coming thanks to Stiener!)
Any Voice Acting. I do have voices to add, but I havn't gotten complete sets yet.


I also have a music mod that I developed to go along with the Pirate mod.  (works with ANY version of sin!)

This music mod contains music from Star Trek Legacy, Homeworld (all), and a little more. It also contains Gurkov's sound mod. It is easy to cobine with any mod, as for entrenchment it can just be enabled on top of the mod. For normal sins, you must manuly combine them (Instructions included in the mod)


I HEAVILY sugest you download the music mod. It increases the atmosphere of the game, and espcialy my Pirate mod, a hundred fold.

Evil ... I have some time available to help you ... please give me as much info on the icons you want likes/pref./etc...

I'd like to work quickly and get as much done as possible, so the more info you can give the better!

I have a backlog of B5 models to tex. BUT will finish what icons I can for you first!

Awsome!!

You can't really work on the unit icons, as the units are yet to be put in.

So you can work on abilities, or reaserch.

You might want to start with reaserch.

Simply look at the code for the reaserch/ability icon, and "fill it in" in the corrospoding spot on the the corrisponding sheet.

ALL ability and reaserch icons can be found in these four pictures in the "textures folder In my mod:

apart from that, just use your imagination. SOme will be obvious (as one of my caps has a "torch" ability. It's icon will probably be a flame) while some may be more difficult, such as the icon for Loot.

 

Don't worry about asking me what I think first. Probably go for a quantity over quality approach. Just send me the sheets every few icons you get done. I'll be sure to tell you what I think.

I played the game quite a bit to get the icons highlighted ... and I really enjoyed it! Great mod Evil Tesla!

Very nice ship ... love the fact that you can research weapon upgrades for it!

Edit: Perhaps you could consider making the flames a little smaller, the glow effect from them clashes with the model at certain angles ... just a thought:)

Evil just going to finish the B5 Explorer tex. then I'll do some more 2D work for you ...

 

Before 7DS forum went down ... I saw some really great pics of new pirate models and tex. any chance of posting them here .. I'm sure many would love to see them...

Yea, I got a new Pirate Scout, I could post pictures of it. *making note to myself*

Grrg...I hate PR stuff...

 

Anyway, yea, thanks for the reminders. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the 2D art.

 

I've beeen gone for the past week and a half, so Not much has been  done. Again, all the coding is done, all I need is models, voice acting, and 2D art.

Also, Greentec has been working on the Pirate Man-O-War. So you may want to prepare yourself now, for how awsome the ship is!

If your using Entrenchement, you can just install it like any other mod, and them Ingage the mod Over any OTHER mod you want. (Including my Pirate Mod).

cool thanx.  also, how is this mod to be played?  obviously it's just a beta, but there is no way to siege planets yet?  so far is it just building ships and attacking?

Yes I do need help. Specificly in the areas of Voice Acting and 2d art.

And, just becouse I am lazy, if anyone wants to write out story behind my mod, I could use that too.

 

In this beta, the structure behind the pirates is present. All the abilities and such are finished.

If you want to seige a planet, just build some cap ships, or seige frigates....

 

Granted the pirates play MUCH differntly from the normal civilizations. The basics are explained in the ReadMe file.

For example, Pirates Don't Colonize. They get loot from destroying enemy ships!.

Sounds nice! When I one day have the time to actually play Sins I will give it a try! ( modelling, textureing, codeing, making graphics, including the work of others and so on have kept me from actually playing sins for month now...)

Hey, i have a problem, when i start going on the later fleet techs, i have a hard time building ships even when i have all other ships plundering and stealling.

Yes, I have very little metal and crystal when I start cracking out ships. Also i get alittle confused in the researching panels, and the ship construction, and the structure construction. Its a miner problem, really. Could i get an estimate on when the letters on the selection panels will be replaced by pics?

Other than that, i give you a 4*   on the mod and a 5*   on making an origonal mod. :D
