List of Elemental Mods

Partly insipred by RavenX's suggestion list: https://forums.elementalgame.com/365404 I have decided to create a list of all Elemental mods. There aren't very many yet (I could only find 3:P ) but eventually I imagine there will be a lot of them, and it would be nice to have a place to see them all. This list will include everything, total conversions, map packs, graphical improvement mods, ones that just add one race or two, etc, etc. Hopefully when the modding section of the forums gets created, this thread can be stickyed:P

All mods will be listed in alphabetical order, sorted by type.

Ok, that's all the mods I could find in a quick search through the forums. If you have a mod you are working on/will work on, reply here and I will add it to the list. Also, if anyone has a website set up for their mod, or a banner (not too big, please), reply here and it will get added.

Note: I will not add any additional tags. Either it's released or it isn't. I'm not going to put things like [Public Beta] or [Closed Beta] or version numbers or anything like that. DO NOT ASK FOR THEM.

as an application developer, this thread screams "mod database" to me! :)

even an application with simple CRUD capabilities, where members could create/update their own entries would be helpful, correct?

i'm more than happy to develop the infrastructure for the database... perhaps SD would like to house a tool of sorts?

I created a Terrain and Colors Mod to add a little more diversity and personality to the in game factions, can it get added to the list? It's purely cosmetic and patch compatible and shouldn't effect any mod or patch that doesn't change the color scheme or terrains of factions.

I think it would help us newbs to know what version of the game these mods were made for and whether or not it shouldn't be downloaded with the most recent update.

 

For example, have a (1.07) at the end of entry so we know.  Is this idea even necessary?

I ask because I don't want a old mod to override any new patch updates without me being fully aware of it.

Not sure where i should post this, but wasnt happy with item prices on the shop and other features so I manage to cut prices on armor, weapons and other things. Have any questions or comment let me know. Check the readme file first so you know where they go...

I don't have a lot of time, so this is going to be a quick post.

For future reference, PMing me in unecissary. Even though I don't always update the list and reply on the forums every day, I make a point to read new replies, skim the boards, check the dev journals, see what's going on, etc. Just posting in the thread is enough, as I will certainly see it (I've had a couple people PM me now).

Sorry, not going to happen. It's just too much work. I just don't have the time to check every mod to see what version it works with, then update them again as new patches come out. And once the expansions start coming... It is up to you (the person reading this thread) to follow the links to each mod's respective pages and see if it will work.

I realise how much work it is to maintain such lists but the tags you picked - while obvious - only work with a manually maintained list.
They have no functionality outside that list... and especially not for the forum search.

Yes, but honestly, what purpose would changing the tags in the list here serve? My goal with this list is just to organize all the mods in one place so you don't have to dig through 10 pages (or whatever it is now) of modding section posts. Basically, it's to prevent you from having to search "mod" on the forums, as everything is already in one place. I can understand changing the tags on the actual post for each mod, but that is up to the modder to decide, not me. The only reason those tags are even there is to make people stop pestering me to put the release status up (just click on the link!:P lol).

If you're doing a search of the forums, and ignore/don't use this sticky, then you probably don't want the list showing up anyway. I mean, it's not a bad idea, but I don't understand why that would be beneficial to include in the list.

Or maybe I've been busy and haven't updated the list recently. Chill out, it will be on there eventually. I'm going to do my updates on weekends because I have more time, but this last weekend I was too busy.

And again, DO NOT PM ME>:( It will not get your mod added to the list any faster. If anything it will do the opposite. Especially doing it multiple times (you know who you are).

Thanks for keeping this list, it is awesome to see all the mods that are forthcoming and even out already!

Drasnov and I are working on a new one we would like added to the list, Codex Alera: The Romanic Age.

It is a mod that will be set in the history of The Codex Alera seires, focusing on the humans and their struggle to rise to power over each other. It will feature new techs, a new magic system, and much more.

(We are also looking for help, as this could turn into a very large mod pretty easy)

If I was volunteering, I would have volunteered.  If I was annoyed, I would have said so.  And as you have stated, you don't have huge chunks of free time to dedicate to it, which was obvious from your previous posts and posting schedule, and which is why I ultimately made the suggestion as to someone else who does have the free time to manage this.  I was looking for this to be updated more regularly long before I tossed my hat into the ring.

As I stated, I greatly appreciate the initiative.  I was merely trying to offer a suggestion to accommodate everyone here since the greater the Elemental modding community expands, the more demanding it will become to maintain the list.  So no, it doesn't just affect me and that was not the reason behind my inquiry.

It would be nice if we started posting mods on this site rather than here.  It has been up for weeks now, yet I still only see 1 single mod there.  It's just a lot easier on the eyes.
