Theme Manager Suites by Philly0381

I owe a sincere apology to all the members of the community that have been downloading and attempting to use my TM Suites.  If I could find a rock big enough to hide under I would. :S

The reason for everyone's problem in applying the Suites is that I have been using the wrong links in the TM Suites file.  Unfortunately it took all this time for my error to surface.

The links in the description section of the Suites download page will take you to the individual skins download page and you can manually download the skins.  I was using the same link in the suite files which was incorrect.  I am working with the folks who know what they are doing to correct this error.

I also need to apologize to Stardock, WinCustomize staff and to the skinners of the community for any problems that I may have caused because of using the wrong links.

In short, the reason for the Suites not loading and applying correctly have been because of my error and had nothing to do with Stardock or WinCustomize.

Philly. Really. No apology is necessary! So what? You made a small mistake. You'll fix it. (}:) ).

Good news: https://forums.wincustomize.com/367259

Because the search was inconsistant for building suites many suite makers used the next logical thing . .the page URL.

The just-released beta of Theme Manager will look for the incorrect URL and apply the correct one.

For example, if you used https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=2582&libid=25 (which is the gallery page) it will try to grab from https://www.wincustomize.com/download.aspx?skinid=2582&libid=25.

This will not work if you used something like http://zubaz.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=42&libid=76

Thanks for taking the fall for this Philly . .glad we can help make it better.  :)

No worries Philly.  Thanks for taking the time to create the suites in the first place.  Errors happen.

See, Philly? No screaming or yelling, no wails nor gnashing of teeth.

"But wait: There's more"....Theme manager got a much needed capability.

Thanks for posting that info, Zu!

Keep up the good work, Philly. Theme Manager would be great if it actually downloaded everything and applied it properly consistently.

Let he who is without a glitch throw the first negative comment.  I don't think you'll see that happen John.  You are being way too hard on yourself.  My friend, the positive you have created hear at WC more than out weighs any minor issue.  Keep up the great themes.

Okay, an update to all this is that I have upgraded my Vista Home Premium 64 bit system to Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

The same problems are there with Theme Manager, but I'm hoping that Object Desktop 2010 will correct these and provide another update to Theme Manager.  :-"

Nice upgrade, indeed!

Thanks for the post, Philly. It's a real sign of maturity and responsibility to give a public apology like that. Don't let it get to you though, everyone makes mistakes! :)

For what it's worth . . TM has been getting incremental updates internally and the community should benefit from those soon.
