Last person to post wins, unless they are a moderator or admin.

Basically, this game is played so that the last person who post wins. What do they win? The ThreadKiller's Achievement; The honor of being the last person to post by virtue of the content of their post. However, moderators, admins, and anyone else who has the ability to lock the thread are disqualified from winning the ThreadKiller's Achievement, if they win by locking. If the thread is won by method of locking, the "winner" gains the Achievement Of Reprehensible Epic Lameness.

ahh, but i never said it was consensual either...

its like having chocolate force-fed to you, you arent consenting, but who doesnt like chocolate?

I can see that. Someone is forced to have sex, but mid-way discovers that they like it and ride the stallion home. There was something like that in a movie with Rutger Hauer. His character started raping a chick in front of his friends and she saw the opportunity to become the alpha, so she raped him back until his character was embarassed. Can't remember the name of that movie.

Ok, I offically hate EVE again. Glad I only did another trial. Back to SINS.

lol, tried EVE again eh? Im sorry you dont like it. I did but saw it as a massive time-sink

I liked it but was tired of losing things b/c of mapserver glitch or the mission requried me to park next to a radioactive thingy which in turned destroyed me. I was taking 2 steps forward then 8 back. Anyhow, back to SINS. Like SINS isnt a massive time sink either :P

Games that are a time sink definitely cause me anguish, usually in a delayed manner. Beyond that, I hate games that charge by the month. The way I figure it, if I'm going to constantly blow money on it, it should either be like Fallen Sword where I just pay for points which I can then use for special tasks and be done with it OR they should have events that occur, constantly adding new material and changing the universe to make it truly dynamic. I have a design for something like that, but it'll be developed way in my future if at all.

Time sink isnt a bad thing IMHO, just as long Im overall enjoying myself. Im not a fan on Subscriptions but Ive paid for City of Heros; it was worth my $15 a month, till I got stalled and bored. Also tried Warhammer Online, but didnt keep that active long for job related issues.

Anyhow, back to something I enjoy...18 hours SINS games.

lol, yeah, I may come into a similar issue when SWTOR comes out :( and I was so looking forward to it :'(

The time sink is only an issue when I log off and realize I have so much to do and already nose to nose with the deadline. As for the monthly payment, the issue is that inevitable boredom. There are so many games that I pay for once and get equally bored with. Why pay more than I have to only to get bored in about the same time? Hell, I still play Medieval II, but not Diablo II. Only one of those has even a chance of charging me month to month.

I may get SWTOR if I find some people to play with regularly. If I do, Im so being a smuggler.

Han is The Man

I can't help but think two things. One: Be like Han? Screw that! Vader just blocked the blaster shots with his hand before laying down some aristocratic whoop-ass. Be like VADER! Two: Did he really identify his target, or did he just catch a glimpse and thought, 'crap, there's a black guy in here!'? And I know what you're thinking: Lando is black, Chewy is... might be black... well, his nose is. But chewy has all that light colored hair and Lando... well, let's face it, he's pretty Uncle Tom.

You be the judge.

well some of us like being roguish good guys, I lean towards those types as well though I prefer the power of Jedi so Im going for jedi warrior Bindo style (if you don't know Bindo go play the original SWKOTOR)

I was just responding to the link. Don't much care seeing that I'm not a Star Wars fan nor plan to play any ongoing RPG anytime soon.

Recently did some poking around. Remember that argument about artillery? I found both details on a scramjet artillery shell that can go over 500 miles, AND chat it up with a guy who worked Navy R&D, saying that new techs combined with old methods are actually just as efficient and more cost effective than what we use nowadays. He said that the higher ups have this weird obsession with everything being new and shiny. Sad, really. This guys says one of the new shells could be fired from an old Iowa class and hit a small window without a question of accuracy.

yeah accuracy of artillery has vastly improved, and has gotten more dangerous

thats why I laughed when tesb called it out of date

being able to drop a good chunk of explosives down on someones head with minimal chance of retalition (yes I know about counter-battery fire) is still a much prefered method

bla bla bla bla i am a military expert because i saw some propaganda from arms manufacturers bla bla bla

put it this way, artillery is a cheap, effective and very powerful alternative to using missiles.

if you ever played World In Conflict, you'd understand this =)

and, there are times when accuracy isnt needed... when we get to have a war against a real power and not these schmuck terrorists, then the power of artillery is realised.

Artillery is a vastly important strategic tool. Unfortunately the United States currently has little use for it as Artillery historically results in collateral damage, and since the majority of the fighting is in urban environments...well.

Now on to the SWTOR talk. I don't think I'm going to play it. They pretty much ruined it for me the moment they stated that Smugglers had to be on the good side and bounty hunters had to side with the Sith. That is the stupidest thing they have done.

Another MMORPG that disappointed me was Star Trek Online, originally you were going to be a single person on a ship with tons of other players, all taking key positions on the bridge, in the engine room, science lab, or med bay. But now everyone starts as a captain, with their own ship.

I'm not a big fan of MMORPGs I've played WoW, got to lvl 9 before I was bored and went back to Total War. Played Warhammer, got to Lvl 5 before I was bored and went back to Europa Universallis 3. I then Played EVE before I got bored and went back to Borderlands. I finally played Age of Conan, got to lvl 10 and then went back to Galactic Civ 2.

In fact the only MMO I've liked so far has been Fallen Earth, it reminds me a lot of Fallout. Also I liked Fonline but that's not actually an MMO...or is it?  -_-

no thanks

me personally I've never been big in MMORPGs myself so I have never really played them, but I must admit that SWTOR does strike my interest and so will attempt it. As to the whole Smuggler good guy, Bounty Hunter bad guy issue, the website brings out that you start there but you don't have to stay there. If you wish you can be a bad guy smuggler or a good guy bounty hunter.

i played one year wow and it was a huge time sink the only good thing of mmorpg are the other people (it is alos their biggest annoyance)

I'm not against MMORPGs, but I tend to get bored or don't want to pay for that inevitable boredom. I did Guild Wars for a bit and that was okay, but the story was a letdown and it boiled down to two classes. Diablo II was always good to me, but once I beat the whole thing with three different classes, it slowed down (although I have to admit, it lasted amazingly long for most games). Not a Star Wars fan and after Warcraft III pissed me off, I wasn't going to give WoW a hairball of a chance.

But I feel little loss. Not only do I have two major projects going on, but I also have a job and, until recently, had to make time for girlfriend. So not having a time sink to pull me away is good. Medieval II and Fallout 3 can draw me in easily, so I have to keep a clock nearby when I play. Scary, huh?
