Standard or Fat taskbar [Results]

Thin standard; not the default fat one.

I don't have Win 7 yet so I don't know the difference.

Definitely standard.... fat consumes too much screen real estate... don't like it.

It should be noted that the fat taskbar is the standard taskbar on Windows 7 (I.e. its the default that everyone will see out of the box).

I like standard.... or thin taskbars. The fat ones never feel right somehow. So I'm guessing you have a choice in Win7? If so, I'm glad about that. If I remember rightly, Win7 gets released real soon, and as I'm thinking of buying a new 'puter, I'll wait until after the release date. My current system struggles with Vista.... I don't even think it was meant to run XP! LOL

I say standard. Fat one is just a real estate hog imo, and if you need wider, you can always adjust it. Default should be thin as possible.

Definitely standard.  The fat taskbar provides nothing more useful at all.

Its 40 pixels instead of the 30 default size and in default mode has no text just an icon.

I think as Neil said I'll rephrase it Fat or Thin taskbar just to be clear but It appears that the folks that answered standard thus far did so in opposition to Fat in the OP.

There are enough fat-bottomed things in the world (myself included)....I prefer the 30-pixel taskbar.

I like the normal sized, smaller taskbar. The fat bar is ugly, IMO!

I love the new super bar, "fat" as was told here. It's not a taller version of the previous windows taskbars, the usability/user experience with Windows7 Taskbar + task preview + jump list is the best desktop experience I had in many, many years.

I believe everyone should try Windows 7 (and WB7) with the new taskbar for at least a month before telling what is better in general.

This is only MY own opinion based in my experience with Windows 7 and should not be considered "the truth" by anyone
