crank it up

As some of you know my other passion is music, singing, recording, producing etc.. recently after doing a bit of work inside my audio\studio apps I thought it might be cool to do a blind with similar stylings, techy controls, backlit with lots of glow , a look that says ..audio.

Just started last night.. hope you guys will appreciate my vision on this project.

and WOM.. yes, its a Master skin. :sun:

Been recording myself singing as long as I can remember, started off i guess with tapedecks years ago, was nice enough to have been given a couple of reel to reels a bit later, an Akai and a Sony, used those till I ran em into the ground, then progressed to the much smaller 4 track, had a lot of fun with that doubletracking. at one point amusingly enough I used a kids plastic toy microphone with a spring in it for reverb (was a low point, equipment-wise)

Then of course along came the PC and if I hadn't been hooked already I now was, started off with Cakewalk 7 DAW..Then onto Sonar.. and eventually the industry standard.. Cubase......since then I have tried \ used pretty much ever DAW out there, probably installed and tested every VST virtual intrument \ synth \ plugin on the planet since then.

Now I use Ableton Live 8 which can be downloaded at www.ableton.com. I find it to be very easy to use and pretty much handles anything and everything I can throw at it.

THe blind is coming along well.. its very dark and very glowey... will post some full screens soon.

i used to have an akai reel-to-reel back in the late 80's. i always recorded my albums to tape so i wouldn't need to play the album again. between my akai and the nakamichi cassette deck, i had it made.

anyway, the new skin looks great. i'm looking forward to it's release.

Kids, lol. I started out with a tube-type amp (a Scott if I remember right) an eight-track recorder and whatever I could scrounge for speakers and a turntable. While in the Army I bought a Teac reel to reel,a Sansui amp with separate rear amp(an early set-up for four channel), a Sansui tuner and a Girard Zero 100 turntable. I wish I still had all of it,although the 8-track wouldn't get much use now.

I started out recording on a Roberts reel to reel aeons ago, went through a ton of equipment over the last 40 years, ended up getting a Studer A80 16 track reel to reel (which I still have) and then the Alesis VCR-based 8 track (2, for 16 tracks) into a Studer mixer. I have an AKG "The Tube" microphone and a bunch of other stuff. I've never graduated to DAW's because I'm too lazy to figure it out, but one of these days I will. I didn't even have a computer until 3 years ago, which is pretty hilarious.

the nakamichi cassette deck,

I remember them--they were great machines. I've still got my Studer (the pro version of Revox) cassette deck.

Wiz, you must be as old as me. I almost bought one of those Garrards. I've still got some 8-track tapes.

I've asked Skinhit if he would like to make a matching IP for this and he graciously accepted, Def. looking forward to that. :congrat:

With the Munkeh MIA, I'm gonna try do some docks myself, Mirsguy, if you like your welcome to make some too, Docks-a-plenty eh :)

Jim, if you want to do a DX, let me know. This will have full light and dark substyles so you may be in for a project if you want to do one.

Bilbo, come on back, weather gadgets failing is not the end of the world and this sure could use some 'metered' widgets or something audio related. :inlove:

Pixel is doing a Xion for this, hopefully already in the works.

If anyone want's to do a cursor, let me know, I'd like that, something dark and glowey sounds like the perfect cursor recipe and seems Javier is a little busy thesedays.

I think a bouncing spectrum analyzer would make a kickass dream, anyone wanting to tackle that, just holler.

Right clicks would def. look great utilizing this style, who wants to do those?  :P

I may also try my hand at a sound packager theme :d , it is an Audio based theme after all.

I will make PSD's available to anyone working on the theme.

Thanks everyone. :)

XP... 95% complete. Toolbar Icons are old* - one of last things I need to do.

Then onto the light version (which will actually be the default)

Thanks you guys, btw, dont expect any office apps to look good until I do the light version. Its unfortunate MS decided to skin it differently to the OS.. nothing I can do about it.

Tried my nOobish hand at some dock tiles... :hot:

Haha.. well, he 'sorta' had a point , that BG I used there.. and here.. was probably not the best choice.

That will all change soon tho :ninja:

Thx John, Syd, everyone.

Now let me say these few words; allow me to…

I have to catch my breath and cough a couple times. :w00t:

Now, if he keeps making them better the way only he knows best, new words or phrases must be invented because amazing, outstanding, quality work, superb, the best, wonderful, top of the line, can’t get any better than this, speechless, etc… are now becoming too weak to express contentment.

I previously said if you want to trade vStyler, you might have to trade a whole bunch of top of the line skinners in for the trade, guess what! I change my mind. Some things cannot be traded or sold. You can’t buy the original Mona Lisa, or vStyler.  :w00t:  :dur:
