Survey #3: A compilation

Thanks Spartan! I feel like I have been touched by a Karma Demi-God.   I really have high hopes for this week's survey, I hope everyone has lots of ideas!

hmmm, I have to think of a worthwhile question....   I keep thinking of selfish questions like "check here if you want wear cavalry" or "how would you like the multiple world feature to work"  since those are both features I really want.  

"what is the fastest way to derail a thread?" fill in the blank.   I wonder what kind of answers you'd get.

well, I sent in a few questions.  

In case somebody cares, here is a copy of what I submitted.

Should there be multiple worlds/maps?  And how should it be done

A.    There should be both underground/above-clouds and alternate planes of existance at launch

B.    There should only be underground/above-clouds (Heroes of Might and Magic style)

C.    There should only be alternate planes (master of magic style)

D.    They should not include alternate worlds, but the AI should be able to deal with it at launch so fans can easily create multiple worlds if they choose.

E.    The devs should not even think about it.

If there are multiple maps in a single game, how should they be accessable.

A.   only through portals/stairs in very specific locations, allowing for the maps to be different sizes

B.   Through phasing, planer walking, and everything else (possible phasing units might exist on both planes at the same time); forcing the maps all to be the same size so things sync up

C.   Same as option B, except force units into one plane or the other, and have a scaling feature so the maps can be different sizes (phasing units may have a range of locations into which they come through when switching planes/going-underground)

D.  All of the Above, I love the idea of multiple maps but am unsure how to do it.   I'd leave it to the devs because I don't know the complications of programing it.

E.   N/A   I vote against multiple maps.

Which options do you want to see   (this would be the like, really like, neutral, dislike, hate thing)

1. Multiple screen support

2. Movable UI (move the 'menu bar' to the left side of the screen, or have the "stats" always display in the bottom left rather than pop-up on the right.  For example)

3. hot seat screen split

4. voice chat

5. minor non-playable factions

6. in game default name schemes including prominant community members and/or beta testers

7. 3D goggle support

8. "GM" mode for RPG playing

9.  item slots on heroes (like you can only wear 1 amulet, for example)

10. bear cavalry

I would be most interested in seeing if people had suggestions for that 3rd question.  

I don't think there is much of a chance of a flame-war if I post mine, so here it is:

Rank each modding system from most to least favorite:

• Files in Python or some other true coding language.
• Internal editors (accessible in game or from game menu)
  
• External editors (accessible from autolaunch or start menu)
• Text-based, but not actual code. Similar to Civ4 or GC2.

scoutdog, your idea smells bad and it makes me angry.  Its so bad, its like looking down a well to see if a child fell in, just to discover that the half dead baby has started to dig.    I find the firy fury in my heart wants to bring death to your inhuman mother.   Hitler's ideas look positive  next to yours.   Because you posted this, zombie stalin has come back to the world of the living and is now making love to your mother and father at the same time.   Its a firy love, the kind that starts wars, and involves nuclear missles aimed on the democratic west.   At the same time, its icy love.  the kind of ice that builds up on a dead person when they die in syberia.  The reason stalin does it is because your parents are not unlike hamsters.  Your father was an englishman (in an offensive french kind of way)!  Your idea is like a six pack, but without that plastic thing that holds it together.  Its amazing that in the birth of ideas, the sperm of that post was able to beat the others.  It most have grown in a dead rat.  I'd ask if the creator's parents were siblings, except it came out of half a person. I have a terribly empty feeling, is it the skull from which this idea came?   I wave my private parts at your post.

lol, I just reuse the same picture.  I've no idea like what anybody looks (I wouldn't even say the guy on the right accuratly represents me.   maybe I am the dude on the left?  plus or minus about 50 kilograms)

That almost might be a fair fight.   Trolls are really strong, but heroes can be too.

B. Four: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water (with Life as either Aether or the Sum of the Four)

C. Six: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Life, and Death (the 'Life' rune describes an Element with two separate aspects)
