Channeller/Sovereign Titles

I feel that as you progress through the game you should be given the options for your channeler/sovereign to have a title/several titles thse should be based on:

1. city/terrain near the staring location

2. victor of a memorable battle

3. experienced in the use of certain magic

4. reputation

5. conqueror of a faction

6. obtaining the aid/control of a powerful beast

This could be extended to heroes too. its nice as fluff and as sizing your opponent up before you engage. It would be cool as well to see the title/s being on the diplomancy screen.

examples (in no particular order of cheese).

Chicken

Bear Lord

Firedancer

Windwaker

Lifegiver

Dragon Master

Hero of Bulgor Pass

Conqueror of the Falith

The Oncoming Storm

There's some related discussion in Ynglaur's Name Generator Request thread and thread of Martok's from way back in the first days of the boards that's mostly about using regular units as a possible source for champion units.

The state of any name-generating code will be very interesting to see in the first beta.

I seriously must be blind I went looking for such a thread and couldn't find it. That being said with the recent announcments the forums have picked up again after a bit so, I figure its ok to make new posts if the old one isn't active and over a month old

If you used the forum's Google-fueled search, I'm pretty sure you would not be shown hits from older threads, but I'm not quite sure where the time-based cutoff is. If you use Google (or any other decent search site) directly and add site:forums.elementalgame.com to your search terms, you'll get hits going back to the launch of the Elemental forums.

Also, I wasn't scoffing a new thread at all, just posting ref links for folks might be interested in some related dicsussions. You've got a clear focus here, but those others are fuzzier discussions, and names are only a detail in the regulars-as-possible-champions thread. What I do scoff is this 'thread necromancy' taboo. Just because a discussion went quiet for a month or nine hardly means that it's finished.

I was went and manually looked as there is only five pages. Its just nice to see what there was in the way of discussion before I create a new topic.
