Pressurized WIP

Pressurized WIP

I saw the Pressurized DX Theme from Redneckdude/PDJ and wanted to make a blind from it. I just knew the graphics would make a great start menu. You can get it here.

The gauge and the knob on the start menu are animated, and at some point on this project, I'm going to try my hand at animated steam...wish me luck.

Its super.I likes it.

If it were me...I would add a touch of colored texture to the greyscale pipe gradients...its too pure and clean. Also I would transform the texture to appear closer in the middle and recede at the top and bottom. That would give you a nice round pipe.

As for animating steam...I made steam animate from one frame to the next by distorting it one frame at a time with the wave distortion effect in PS...by lightly distorting  a steam layer, copy, distort, copy again etc... for each succesive frame while diminishing the opacity a little each time. :D

You are reading my mind....I'm thinking a grungy substyle. I love grunge.

Sounds do-able. I was thinking along the lines of 'pressurized' steam, that spews out at high speed. Your tip might work for that if I'm carefull.

Thanks for the tips, Brain!

Wow! That's nutty! (In a good way)

Dare I suggest that you make a dirty copper/brass/leather steampunk edition?

Here's an inspirational image:

OK....whats happenin here!? Did someone let the steam out! XD

We have steam!

I ended up using Po's suggestion, and made it by hand, frame by frame. The picture does not really show it off well, because it's animated. It looks much better in motion.

Honey, all you need are some wagon wheels and something to pull it!XD

I love what you've done with this on the real Lady-X!  Just brilliant!

damn sure got plenty of clowns and dancing monkeys around here to go with it. :D

Now all you need is a whistle sound....for like quiting time! :time:

A steam whistle like the ones used on the old freighter ships or...damn...I can't remember the name of those boats that sailed up and down the Mississippi with the big wheels in the back...steamboats?

Wow, looks great.  I'd lose or soften the bevel on that red knob on the startmenu though...
