Trying to Come Back To G CIV---please help

Hello.  I used to be so obsessed with this game, I really had to give it a long break.  Now I am interested in coming back, but only have my TA disk (and I think the activation # in an email), and the manual.

I seem to remember that this game boasted I would never again need to buy it.  Well, I have lost some of my stuff, including the original GII disk and activation code.  Is there a place I can download it again and/or a way to prove I bought it once and install it on my computer again?  I would hate to have to re-purchase.  Thanks.

You're best bet is to use Impulse. Assuming your games are registered, you should only need to install Impulse, input your e-mail address (the one your games are tied to) and password, and then download at your convience. You need never use Impulse again thereafter.

Your games could have been registered by buying them from the stardock store (since you mentioned e-mail and activation serial #, this might be what happened). Alternatively you could have registered them manually using either "Stardock Central" (now phased out), or "Impulse".

Try Impulse:

If that doesn't work, go here and try the download Impulse button.

If you are using Impulse, and can't find your games, you may need to contact sales at stardock.

I can't think of anything else you can do beyond what I mentioned. Good luck.

I have a similar question.  I had the orginal GC2 DL and DA games installed on an older pc, but haven't played the game for a while.  I am now looking to install both games on my new Vista 64bit PC.  I am in the middle of downloading each.

Is there a particular order or procedure I should follow?  I see there is an option to Activate each game, Verify Installation, Register etc.  Not sure what the recommended procedure is.

Thanks in advance.

I would advise you install and do the other stuff you need to do on the first game before you install the expansion. If you had other expansions, I would suggest you install them in the order they were released.

I can't provide better advice because I don't use Vista.

Thanks for the tip.  I downloaded both games, the most up to date version of each apparantly.  Each worked fine when I started a game and ran for a  few turns.  The DA game did crash when I tried to save a created race, but worked fine after.

Hi. I have similiar broblem with registration, but a little different. I have reregistered GalCiv 2 once (few years ago) via e-mail. I forgot that, and yesterday i bougt and instaled Sins of Solar Impulse, and registerd this game via Impulse (i have registered Impulse on different e-mail, than i registered GalCiv 2). After that i have instaled Gal Civ 2 again, and tried to update via Impulse, but i have error message (account expired - only for GalCiv 2). I think this is problem with different email adresses for GalCiv2 and for Impulse, but i don't know how to change emai adress for GalCiv2 registration. Or maybe i need to make two different impulse accounts?

Sorry for my english.

As long as you have your serial number you can email stardock and ask them to put your game on Impulse, I had a similar problem as i have no credit card i have to order my games through 3rd parties and my games end up registered to another mail, only thing you have to do is write an email to support with the data of your problem and game serial numbers, explain your situation and all done.
