One thing I notice about US homes is the amount of space you all have. Things are a bit more 'cramped' here...

This is the front of my house. The path in front is public...

And this is my rain-sodden and overgrown back garden. The greenhouse houses my cactus collection. The white louvered gadget is a Stephenson screen. Inside that is my maximum/minimum thermometers. One of my other hobbies is keeping weather records and my records here go back to 1976.

I've lived here since 1966 and have been the owner for the last 12 years.

Very nice Fuzzy! Lovely garden! Does it flower?

Does it flower?

Yes. In a few weeks the bushes left and right will be covered in flowers. Quite a spectacle and a big attractor for butterflies.

The front garden is new and only half done. The plants will grow to fill the gaps and the front section still needs to be dug over and planted.

The tall bush front right has an amazing night scent - but the flowers are dropping now :(

And this is a small part of my cactus collection...

Oh how beautiful, Fuzzy!   :sun:

Spectacularly beautiful! Please catch a few pics of the butterflies? We're going out to the new house today, and it's sunny, so there'll be a W.I.P. posted here later!  |-)

We should have you hop the pond and set us up correctly.

Well!

I'm certainly glad I didn't show the other 500 rooms, Jim. :hrmph: XD

Shaunna...you are always invited. We'll leave the Fartmeister in the field across the way...there's no way the curried cabbage monster's gettin' in my digs!

@Nick:

I like that garden in front of your new digs! That farm looks like the size of Connecticut to me, mate. Must've been hell shoveling all that snow in winter!

Not a lot of snow in sunny Cornwall, Doc, when we do get some it is a novelty, although we did get some this year, we have had a cold winter, I blame global warming.

Thank you, mrs starkers,we were lucky to get this place, we were in our last credit crunch, 1995, when I gave up the farm, there was a lot of property for sale at the time, but not many at the going rate, negative equity being the problem, but the people who lived here before us were keen to move so had this place on the market at a realistic price.

Negative equity on the farm: Guess they're not hungry enough, mate. #:(

Glad you got a better deal on your current digs, though.   :sun:

Doc is in Cinci? heck, I can be there in 4 hours! What's for supper? Sorry about the Bengals, Doc. You and vstyler have a lot in common football-wise. He's a Jags fan. The humanity of it all!!!

You mean The Bungles, don't you.

Manchester United for me, mate. Soccer is a much better game than football imho...but to each his own.

Oh yeh...dinner...pick a nice restaurant, coz I ain't cookin'. XD

pick a nice restaurant, huh? well, i'll have to get on the intertubes and find out what's down there. heck! a six dollar burger from hardee's is fine with me. you buying? i am serious, tho. i'm game for a road trip in the near future. you're not too far away to not consider a road trip to detroit, for that matter. i'm going up there in september when jafo will be there. i may go sooner than that so koop can buy lunch again. you should see the dust on his wallet. he has bills that read "silver certificate" in his wallet. also, i have a dictionary and a "Spelling For Dummies" book i want to give to zubaz.

On the other hand, nothing's gonna help Zubaz.
