In order from highest preference to lowest, I prefer Vasari, Advent, and TEC (I don't have Entrenchment yet, so I might be wrong). The Vasari are great with phase travel, i mean the phase stabilizer is cool for getting your enormous armada to the enemy without having to go through the long wait in the planets between start and end (plus it lets you get free ships). They also get to go through wormholes much earlier, a big plus when you want to rush uncontrolled star systems. And the phase missiles somewhat bypass mitigation, so you don't haave to worry too much about an enemy cap ship with 60% mitigation and 4500 shiled points too much. If all that isn't enough, then there is the Kostura cannon, it's great for getting an enemy to get really frustrated for losing the fleet he just spent the last 30 min building, and it helps with subjugating enemy planets and knocking out THEIR superweapon(s). They also can support the largest volcanic populations. Now the Advent have a big advantage with shields, which is great and all because you can't lose a ship if your sheilds cant be destroyed. They also have a tech that lets them research faster, which is a HUGE perk when you want to tech up to get the Destra in your fleets fast. They also can get propoganda out sooner, which is great in small maps. Speaking of which, the Deliverence engine can really help increase loyalties in your own, as well as enemy worlds. If you want to be able to fire it more and reload time isn't a problem, just build some anti-matter rechargers next to it. Ah, the TEC, great economic potential, yes, but I find that they lack something when it comes to combat. They don't have as much antimatter tech, either, which is kinda bad, but you just get around it. I do like the Marza, though. Especially w/ raze planet and missile barrage. But when it comes to normal combat ships, like the kodiak, which has armor potential, but doesn't really have the bite of the bear it's named after. Another nail in the coffin is the Novalith... a pointless weapon, only worth it if you don't want to bombard (who the HELL are you if you don't? I mean you get crushing firepower with the cap ships, and if that isn't enough, there's always Krosovs). One of the things I DO like about them is the planetary shield, which keeps the enemy from bombarding until they detroy the generator, or an Advent Radiance uses its anti-matter bomb. Overall, TEC, 7/10, Advent, 8.5/10, Vasari, 8.8/10.
