OK, i need a fast, reliable, powerful computor setup for intense gaming and im not afraid to build it myself, top price, 500-1000 dollars, any suggetions? i need a case, a power supply, a recent and good video card (preferably nvidia), a moderate to large hard drive, a moderate sound card, good QUAD core cpu, motherboard, and a good amount of ram. also if im missing something add that in too:grin: .  if you have something like this post ur specs and where u got the stuff and how well it works.  im a bit strapped for cash so to just remind you again somewhere around 500-1000 bucks.

(edit)  im in the US and need a VERY reliable website.

Take it from the "experts", gamerking345... recommendations are good guides wide & tide for any rides, expansionism features certainly pays up in the long term! Great video link from Thrawn2787, btw.

Reading a MaximumPC article of 5+ pages could only help if you can still find the magazine before assembly starts.

Is this topic still viable?  I could maybe come up with something.  I just replaced my old 8800GTX with a 285.  Which I quite like...got to love Evga's lifetime warranties too.

A 285 system is a little out of his budget.

also does anybody know if a system like this will play supcom fa well, thats the only game i really have trouble with, also battlefield 2 but thats with a pretty big mod, project reality.

Hey, I just saw your post and I thought you should know... just go to cyberpowerpc.com and have them build your system.  They have a configurator  there so that you can pick what you want as you need it.

I buy all my gaming systems there, though my last system I bought part for part and built it myself and though I like it better that way...  with cyber power they test it and warrantee it they take care of the headache of matching parts to that there aren't conflicts and what not.  And it turns out to be cheaper and it done did deal because they do all the work...  I have been building computers for a long time now and this here is the best way to go.

That just means you go back through your list.  Wait a few weeks and toss the stuff that you were getting because of the deal, you'll probably end up with a better setup by the end of the month.  Next time pay attention to expiration dates. :)

That pc place they mentioned does have decent prices though, you should be able to get close to your price.  The right components through Newegg will be cheaper.

As for supcom.  You'll want to OC the processor if it's laggy.  An AMD 2.8 should be able to handle it just fine, but that game does chew cycles like crazy...

goo, i tried it there, it was still significantly cheaper at newegg getting the parts...

Don't give up.

Take a deep breath, forget the past & hunt down the next opportunities; i know of a few places that will strike incredible deals with consumers for at least another year or until the current recession conditions vanish.

Just because the specific deals you were looking at are expired doesn't mean you can't get an equivalent computer at the same price now.  Stuff goes on and off sale all the time, the general trend is cheaper over time.  If you want a computer now, build it now.

Well, with Newegg in particular, a lot of their deals end on a monthly schedule, and seem to add up towards the end of the month.  So I wouldn't recommend ordering from them on the first.

sorry, i was just getting stressed in general and when i found out all my good deals had expired i just lost it for a while, im fine now, and i didnt lose as much money as i thaught i would.
