When I hit Apply it wont change the theme

Hey Im sure this has been adressed before but I am so stuck.  I purchased windowblinds not 30 minutes ago.  When I try and change a theme it just reverts it to a windows 98 theme.  It refuses to change them.  When I hit apply nothing happens andi it stays at windows 98.  If anyone has any answers i would appreciate it

Open WindowBlinds Configuration,go to system info and copy the info. Then paste it here.

Did you reboot after the install?

Did you uninstall the trial first if you were using it?

Do you have nVeiw running? It doesn't play well with WB's.

XP 64 bit is not supported on versions of WindowBlinds higher than 6.2.  You can e-mail [email protected] to get an archive of this version to use on XP x64

it said it was and it installed fine. wouldnt it not install (like the trial) and say this is not supported with x64?

unfortunately no, no such warning was built into the application at the time (it may be present in the latest version)

I downloaded windowblinds and am having the same problem. I have vista 32-bit and restarted as well. I also downloaded a theme to use instead of using a windowsblinds-created theme but it did the same thing -- reverted to the windows 98-type theme. Thanks for your help. Here is my system info:

Your computer has a Windows Experience Index base score of <Unknown experience score>

The trial  is only good for 30 days. When did you install your copy?

Yesterday. I just tried to change the theme again and it reverted back to the standard vista theme -- not the one selected. Also, every time it reverts back to either the 98 or vista theme, Windowsblinds closes. Thanks.

That's interesting nvs5037, I don't think I've ever seen an unknown experience score before.  I think you might need to email [email protected] with your problem.

He just hasn't run the assessment,Philly.

You should do that,btw.

May I ask when you downloaded the trial and from where, nvs5037?

The experience score may be the root issue here.  I find more things each day that aren't turned on or don't work right if this isn't updated.

Now that is a bit of usefull information.

I think I downloaded it straight from the windowblinds website (https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/downloads.asp) but I could be wrong. If the experience score is the root issue, what should I do? Thanks. -Nick

I've had this problem before and there are a few ways I get around it. So I applied a new windowblinds skin and it reverts to windows 98. I right click on the desktop and then choose window appearance and change it from windows basic to aero(or whatever is normal for your OS) then reboot and it should be okay.

Another thing I've done in the past is just unload windowblinds and reboot and load it again. Sometimes that works.

Anyway, I've always been able to get the windowblinds to work, its just a matter of trying those things until it works.

By the way, Im running vista ultimate 64 bit.

Hope that helped somehow.

Ther have been a lot of updates since that version. I suggest updating to 6.4 through Impulse.Odds are that will fix it.
