Skinning....better than Xanax.

Skinning....better than Xanax.

Last week I took off on a 1300 mile trip to Kansas for my son's wedding.  I'm kind of prone to panic and anxiety, and with the economy the way it is right now, this trip was sort of like walking on a tight rope without a net for me.  However, I am, once again, in the middle of constructing another Windowblind, and during this trip, whenever I caught myself thinking about all the disasters that could befall me (car wreck at any of the states I had to drive through where I don't know anybody to help out and don't have any extra cash to pay anyone to help out; breaking down on the road with no one to help and no way for my spouse to get to me to fix things, because our second car is broken...dying on the road before I GOT to the wedding, etc.), before I started to hyperventilate, I began to think about how I wanted to skin the scroll bar, or what I'm going to do with the Please-Wait animation.

I went the entire round trip (2600 miles) without once freaking completely out in the car, and I owe it all to skinning!

Alice in Wonderland by Louis Carol.  19th century, don't feel like Googling at the moment for the exact dates.  For it's time it was about insanity and drug use. Heavily veiled at the time.  Not so veiled by Jefferson Airplane.

Where have you been for 49 years?  Same place SHE'S been.

(Back to being worried about "IT" -- Joe Black -- the tyranny of clocks -- and needing Xanax).

Grace Slick -  Jefferson Airplane singer - sang "Go Ask Alice" back in the 70s.

Shhhh....you don't say "Starship" to Airplane fans!  They will jump down your throat and tell you it is NOT the same band!  (which is actually the same argument you get from Pink Floyd fans depending on who led the band, Barrett/Waters/Gilmour, or Metallica fans when it comes to Master of Puppets versus the stuff they've created since becoming sober, or my favorite argument, the AC/DC gripe - Bon Scott or Brian Johnson).

I've never been that attached to my music -- I add a little new to my collection at least once every couple of months so I don't end up like my parents -- totally out STUCK in an era.  (this is my recipe for staying young...or at least fooling myself that I'm staying young -- when in fact, I probably look as ridiculous as that old guy I saw in Jackson Square in New Orleans years ago, who had totally white hair, but in order to fit in with the kids, dyed it purple!).

BON SCOTT ALL the way! - To me, there IS no other AC/DC singer!

Actually, considering how long and how hard she rocked, for 69 I think she looks AMAZING!  Her eyes are still bright, she hasn't succombed to the seducation of plastic surgery like so many do and end up looking like wax figures of their former selves.  That picture Seth posted of her...she was a baby!  She's wearing a GIRL SCOUT uniform fergodzake!  I'm much more concerned about what it says about you that you think the first picture is hot! (...dirty old man!  )

I'd be the first to admit I'm a cougar and go for the younger guys most of the time (I make the exception to the rule for Seth ;) ), but my taste HAS grown along with my own chronological age -- the same 10-15 years younger than my own age is what I find attractive.

I guess maybe most men are different than that -- I remember when I was 40, some loser friend of the loser BF I was with at the time telling me that he thought 16-year-old girls were hot when he was in high school, and he STILL thinks 16-year-old are hot (EWWW! :(O  pedophile!!!)   XD

She was wearing the shirt (you're too young to remember our "fashion" statements), but not a GS at the time (and NO remarks about Girl Scout Cookies will be tolerated!)....she was in her early 20's in the shot. LOL.

Ed...there's more to being a Pyrate than that...although that was one of the best, wittiest shots I've seen in a hellaciously long time! 5*

Your cannon and plank appear to be in order Mr. Pyrate!
