Would it be possible for Stardock to include in the manual tomorrow a way to burn Entrenchment into a DVD disc? Sometimes we need to reformat our PCs and it would be faster to install the game from a DVD. Stardock could find a way to make sure that no pirated copies could be made, such as the requirement that after we install Entrenchment from a DVD, it becomes a requirement that we register the product online for activation purposes.

It's just a little suggestion, of course. If there would be any better recommendation from the devs or other players, I am open to it.

You can archive the application in Impulse, burn the archive to disk, then restore the archive using Impulse.

I found the file, thanks!

It's an odd file with no real executable....so it's basically worthless since there's no way to activate it.

Frustrating that it didnt come as a zip or an exe etc.

(one of the main reasons why buying a hard copy is the preferred way to go)

As Kitkun said, it's an Impulse specific archive. If you click the blue orb, you'll see an option to restore an archive. You then point it to that file, and voila ;)

Yes, you should be able to install the French version from Impulse. Please note that there is one crash related to the French version that IC has hotfixed, and the hotfix should be public soon.

Congrats I will be playing this weekend. Can't wait for more micros. Also I did have fun beta testing so hopefully that makes the game almost 100% stable.

Im sure the reason is the way the engine load and processes information. I would assume it would cause a desync or mini dump if you could use previous verison saved games.

Great job guys!  Your efforts towards helping the modding community have me particularly impressed.  That you could continue to improve your already great game, develop new "micro" expansions which revolutionize (in a good way) the gameplay, and adjust the nature of the game itself so as to give the modders an easier time blows me away.

You continuously demonstrate your great attitudes and respect for the people buying your game and I love it.  I look forward to playing and tinkering with future Stardock/Ironclad titles, as I am supremely confident in the quality of your work, and most importantly for your relationship with your customers.

Thank you, and please take a vacation.  You all most definitely deserve it. |-)

About 100 MB.  Extracts to around 300 MB.

There are new updates for both the retail version of Entrenchment and the original Sins on Impulse . For Entrenchment it is 2 mb, while for the original Sins it is 10 mb. What kinds of updates are these anyway? o_O

You can right click in Impulse and select View History. I forget for vanilla, but for Entrenchment it's a hotfix to get mods working, fix for French crash, fix for some French/German characters not displaying properly, and changed the Orkulus reference in TEC's starbase research :P

Wait so do we need a digital download or can we buy this in stores like an expansion pack.

It is download only, not in stores.

Oh, and not to say that the game is bad, it is really awesome! But I just have to report a spelling error. When a cap ship is severely damaged, the game says it is severly damaged, not a big problem, but it is one.

Just a question : I have the french version of sins so if i buy entrenchment, is there a french version or at least the english version of entranchment can coexist with the french one of sins vanilla ? I have been looking for that info but i didn't find it out.

I have no problem with an english version of entranchment, i just don't want to spend money for a game that can't run with my version of the game because of string issues or whatever evil hidden bug.

I'm almost 100% certain there's a French download of Entrenchment. It should pick it up from your Sins install. I don't remember mine asking me for the language, but I do believe language info is saved in the registry so it probably just checks it and downloads the right one.

The other supporting detail is that IC has hotfixed an issue for displaying some French/German characters, and a French-only crash. ;)
