[ATTN.: Stardock] Majesty 2 (new...)

a few previews... a request...

I`m not sure how Stardock approaches acquiring projects for Impulse or what the diplomacy involved is particularly. That said, ideally I`d love to see Majesty 2 get 'signed'... taken under the Stardock wing and nurtured into the kind of game it has so much potential to be.

Those links are for the latest game previews. It *looks* like the development team is on the right track, and that they have completion ability. Love to try a build of it.

This new intro trailer brought a hearty smile to my face, thats for sure...

(one of a number of download sites for it...)

Glad they have the original narrator.

Best trailer EVER.

Usualy I don't care for trailers unless I can see actual game mechanics, but this trailer is so awesome that it should be saved and shown to your friends.

Majesty 2 will use GOO... could a release via Impulse be on the horizon?

That would be good news (Goo and Impulse).

At this point I don't see how it can use GOO and not be on Impulse :P I'm pretty sure that'd be part of the contract (not as a requirement, just a logical extension of "Hey, we're using GOO, kinda makes sense that it'd be on Impulse too")

Right, Zoomba? ;)

Put up a Pre Order for Majesty 2 so I can get it already :)

The original Majesty Gold Edition available on Impulse eh?

Good... nice to see this classic made available once more. I can`t help but think Majesty 2 couldn`t be far off, release-wise.

"Impulse Goo?"

That some kind of sex aid?

(eyes roll)

Oooh, I am so excited!

Oh sweet, garaunteed purchase from me.

Next someone needs to make Dungeon Keeper 3 ;)

Apparently Majesty 2 went into Russian regional beta testing about a week-and-a-half ago.

This game I would *not* participate in the beta test in, even if it was open to non-Russians. Kind of like that for the second Sins expansion, or a Demigod sequel - sometimes you just want to be surprised. Its time for surprise.

(ditto for Supreme Commander 2, btw)

SEPTEMBER 11th.

Majesty 2 is slated for release then... not far off at all.

Damn, more money I HAVE to spend :w00t:

Hmmm. From the look of things the street date has been pushed back to September 18th. We should get a demo before then though. Oh well - some time in Sept. is good.

Where did you get this info? Last I saw on paradox's site was this.

Tuesdays are our shipping dates in the US and Fridays are official release dates in Europe. Most US store can guarantee to have the game in stores within three days. Hence the 9/11 release date.

New Info posted today at Paradox.
Hi,

I started a new official thread on this as I wanted to make sure you all saw this. The Majesty 2 release date has been pushed one week to ensure we can get the game out on all channels (Wal-Mart has a bit longer lead times for instance). So the new in stores release date for Majesty 2 in English speaking Europe, US and digital download is September 18.

The pre-orders went up as planned though today on all portals except for Steam that wanted to wait until Aug 3rd.

I can also confirm that we will release a demo on Sept 15 at 9am PST (6pm CET, 5pm GMT).

Kind regards
Susana Meza

So Strategy Informer put up a preview of the game recently.

http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/majesty2thefantasykingdomsim/preview.html

which inclued:

Majesty 2 also comes equipped with a fully integrated multiplayer system. Players will play in death match-style scenarios and pit their kingdoms against each other. Monsters and other ‘neutral’ mobs will be removed from multiplayer matches, so it’s entirely down to who can best motivate their heroes to lead them to triumph. In a time where the most prevalent strategy in games like these is to see who can rush the enemy first, it will be interesting to see how hardcore players deal with not having total control over their forces.

I find this very disappointing. One of the things I loved about majesty was how it was a weird combination of a scenario vs game where if you concentrated only on your human opponent the monsters and etc would become a problem and how it was odd to see other human heroes come into your town and buy your stuff. This completely kills that and might be a deal breaker for myself and my group.

Honestly, the comment you list there is kind of funny, because the original Majest was one enormous rush fest.

KROOOOOOOLM

That strike fear into any old Majesty player's hearts?  Honestly I laugh whenever I hear a developer state that they've killed/hampered the rush, because they are invariably proven wrong.

Has there been a demo or a beta or anything on this? Interested to see how its shaping up.

Beta for russian citizens only.

Demo pending but should release 1 week before lauch.

As much as I'd love to order from Impulse I'd litterally be throwing away £10 to do so.  I've got the hard copy preordered instead.

StrategyInformer is wrong, there will be Monsters and Neutral mobs in MP.

There is a post about it on Paradoxs boards.
