they should make an expansion where it's not so much a change in the technology but a change in the story line, say the TEC are beginning to lose the war on both fronts, and they have no choice but to expand backwards into recently discovered star systems in an attempt to save their asses. when attempting to colonize the new worlds they run into 2 new races. they quickly encounter a race that the vasari encountered on the run 10,000 years agoand become allies in the war against the vasari, and the second race is long foe of that race. now the Tec find themselves in a desperate need to colonize new worldswhile fighting a war on three fronts with the help of their new found friends

does anyone know of a map of the terrortory that each race holds in the galaxy?  That information would help with the creation or give an explanation for the emergance of any sort of race that might come in next instalments.  It is kinda hard to tell the extent of each empire in the story they give us in the manual because the game and story are not really linked in any way, as well as the fact the large maps that you can play are 20ish stars and that is no galaxy. That is one thing that would help a little with the involvement of each race by giving us a map of their terrotory.

yes there are several statements showing the reach of the trader empire: such as the eastern reaches, the western front(tec/vasari war), the core worlds( the original systems that the settlers colonized), and the northern kingdoms. now we know that the vasari have conquered at least if not more than half of the western front. the advent have taken the eastern reaches. the core worlds consists of multiple systems, the northern kingdoms are rich trader worlds, the western front is perhaps the smallest of the trader systems, now the eastern reaches is the trade orders industrial juggernaught, now there are a few small systems that dot the map around these stellar giants, they consist of small single to 5 at the max planet systems.

well that also leaves some space for creativity for the devs.  Its their project and they would develope it for whatever they know that we dont.
