Jorge...Is there any way we can get the wshide images to use .pngs rather than .ico? That would be really cool! I'd love top be able to use .pngs in place of those .ico images. :CONGRAT:

WebGiz, Try ToYcon. Allows easy conversion of images. :) I encountered a bit of instability running winstep, haven't really dug into the source of the problems yet... But it's quite an impressive suite. :)

@ jonkjon1959:

I really like the theme you're using in the pic, but haven't seen it around. Any chance you could let me know where to find that taskbar/start button combo?

I can convert the images...the question is will the program accept them and allow them to be used. I don't think it will at this point unless Jorge says otherwise.

I meant the Theme itself. I don't know how to skin anything but my knees..but thanks, WG. Hope you have Happy Holidays!

DrJBHL; Here's the theme that's in the screenshot. It's not all my work. It's pieced together from the Aero theme that's included with Winstep. I only modded the startbar/start button. It also won't work right if the startbar is oriented vertically. Here's the url: http://www.spiderrider.com/Aero7.zip

There is also this Win7 taskbar theme for Winstep at DeviantArt:

Thanks, guys...now trying to thin down the task bar....say, shouldn't we be able to decrease the width (or height) of the taskbar same as in windows by "unlocking" and dragging the "top" or upper border of the task bar "down"?

Yes, but the Start Button in that taskbar is too tall - the NS taskbar can't shrink to less than two task rows (with 16x16 icons in the tasklist) for it to fit.

How does one fix that?

I guess I will have to add a new skinning option to have the Start Button separate from - and on top of - the Startbar.

WebGizmos has fixed the problem...I'd post the file, but I don't have permission. WG has done a fantastic job with this and is a big fan of MexStart!

 OMG! My sides are still killing me! I'm never calling you again! First do no harm my ass!

Jorge....Still not quite sure what was wrong with the skin Doc was trying to use...but I got it fixed for him and its working fine now. The original skin..."Windows_7_Superbar_in_XP_by_haran_hockey" had some some strange looking files in it such as "Startbar.png.bak"....not sure what that is and a lot of files were named liked that...and some of the graphics as well didn't make any sense...some were poorly done.

The second version above was a better graphic wise...but still couldn't resize the Startbar.

Now...I'm still new to skinning Winstep and NextStart and playing around with it...but the above version "seemed" to be missing some files. So I compared it to another file in which I was creating an EclizDeluxe WorkShelf and NextStart for myself that was working and added another file from that NextStart to the one above for Doc and got it working properly.
