And WorkShelf becomes "WorkCheap" and Nexus becomes "MeXus"?

I guess we'll have to ask Jeff Bargmann for a "Longer and higher" version of "Fences", eh Jorge? GWB couldn't get it done.   X| XD ;)

Jorge....If you could have listened in on the call between me and doc last you would pissed your pants! We were laughing so hard it hurt. It all started with me misspelling NextStart as MextStart...from there it just took on a life all its own. We invented a whole new version...the details of which will forever remain undocumented...so to speak. XD

Jorge....Still not quite sure what was wrong with the skin Doc was trying to use...but I got it fixed for him and its working fine now. The original skin..."Windows_7_Superbar_in_XP_by_haran_hockey" had some some strange looking files in it such as "Startbar.png.bak"....not sure what that is and a lot of files were named liked that...and some of the graphics as well didn't make any sense...some were poorly done.

Haran_Hockey started using Winstep Xtreme like 2 weeks ago - actually pretty brave of him to dive straight into skinning it, even if only the taskbar.

Love your screenshot, by the way, and I think WorkShelf's tab text would also look really good using the font seen in OD's tabbed dock too.

I'm adding a skinner's option NOT to display the 3D icon frames in the shelf for WSX 8.12.

Hope you release that theme! :-)

Hey...options are always a good thing as long as they're options. And am I correct in understanding that we can use png images rather than ico images used to close...see more in the shelf and open the configuration window? Also....The file name mentioned above...Startbar.png.bak....is that a normal file name> I've looked at quite a few files to learn how everything works and thats the first time I came across that.

What would be really great is if you could come up with something explaining what files need to be in a folder on order for everything to work. It was just be chance that I figured out what the problems were with the theme doc was using. Turns out it was a missing file.

And it'll be a bit before I get that theme done...plus I need to get JJYing's permission...if he's still around that is...since it's fashioned after one of his skins that I use a lot...EclizDeluxe...and hope to have several versions in the end.

I have others I want to do but still trying to figure out this tiling method...some parts work and others don't.

I think a good tutorial section is needed. Also, if the new GUI Theme manager you're working on Jorge had a way to make skins it would be cool. I just don't understand the process and would love to do something creative and not just wait for others to do for me.

I admire Haran-Hockey's courage also, btw.

Thank you for such an amazing application and your devotion to improving it, Jorge. Really.

As for WG...what can I say? I can't take him anywhere. P.S. Are you making a Linux "Red Sombrero" version of MexStep?

Doh!

Jorge...One thing that would be great and would also open more possibilities is better control over tiling images and locking in graphics along the edges. I've had a few ideas I played around with but couldn't get some things to tile right. Parts would look great while others would just get stretch and look all blurry.

You'll have to provide specific examples, with screenshots if possible.  :)

You can use ico, png and tif files for the Shelf left and right mini-tab indicators.

I'm surprised you haven't found it yet, but the User Guide for each application (NextSTART and WorkShelf) has a Theme Bitmaps section that lists ALL the bitmaps you can use to make a theme and their filenames.

Ok cool.

Can ya give me a hint where I'd find them. Oh wait...I get it...this is one of those hunt for it games and if I find it I get updates for life! XD

Ahaha. The User Guides are buried deep in the UI of Winstep Xtreme, ok course: for WorkShelf, open WorkShelf Preferences and click the Help button, for NextSTART, open NextSTART Preferences and click the Help button. Deep, as I said.  :d

As for the sections themselves, check out the 'Theme Bitmaps' entry in the index right at the top of the document.  ;p

Why did you have to tell him, Jorge?

Especially when he went and made fun of your wonderful program! NexTime (a new program to help make better use of one's time and resolutions for the New Year) make him work for it!  :-"

Bet you didn't get as much on him as I did... I got six hours worth of tape, and 5.99999 hours of it is pretty juicy stuff.

However, I ruled out blackmail cos Doc probably has a similar tape.

BTW, that's a pretty good looking Xtreme setup you're working on there, Steve... hopefully you'll upload it when you've got it completed.

 :)
