I wish the rules had live folders as a must do

I wish the rules had live folders as a must do

the last 7 icon packs had no live folders & I think about 2 or 3 have had which is great I just wish this was part of the rules system I feel it would have made them better that they were ready straight out the box cause there are so many great ones to have:wc:

Wait.  No I'm not.

Most of the WC users and most Windows users are still on XP.

So there.  :P

We wanted to keep the icon competition as open to XP users as possible.  The requirement of 256x256 sized icons was in consideration for Vista.

Live Folders would have pushed out a lot of XP-based artists.  And XP is the vast majority of our users on this site.  In fact, over 65% of our traffic to the GUIC site is from XP users.

If people didn't already know this, if you open Iconpackager there is tab at the top that says "LiveFolders". You can apply a Livefolder from another pack to complete your theme.

Although I understand the reason behind allowing XP-skins it is a bit disapointing to see all these high-class but outdated skins uploaded. Not just the IP's but also the XP-only WB-skins that have been uploaded recently.

I am pretty sure that most of the skinners could have asked a friend to test their skins in Vista before uploading them. But as Vista compatibility is not a requirement, some of the skinners might not have seen a reason/incentive to make their skins Vista ready. :'(

But it is a factor in the judging.  We shall see how that works out for them.

I think the judging on this should be changed. There is at least 10 packs I really like and to judge them on a factor of 3 is impossible. If this is the case my first choice would be how complete the package is and second how they look. There isn't too many complete packages there.

I think Vista has been around long enough. so the other peps who own Vista get a bum deal when it comes to the comp :X
