Very true my friend! I may or may not go into fixing it as I have no interest in using the skin. It was a small project and I don't intend to use it really. Gui Champs skins will keep me satisfy.

First of all you've violated the EULA you agreed to when you purchased the theme. You may not alter or modify our themes nor can you convert the theme into another format. Besides that it looks like total crap and does not represent what we created. You're damaging our brand by altering it in a way we didn't intend on and making our theme look bad. Don't do it again. Seriously, don't do it again.

Oh give me a break. That would be like Nissan telling me I can't put custom wheels or a new stereo in my car. Seriously, going overboard. What are you gonna do? Confiscate everyone's computers because they decide to make the skins (that they bought) more usable for their own purposes?

Our themes are licensed. We spend too much time on our work to let someone come in and ruin it. We do not want people who see this to think this is how the theme really looks. I wouldn't care if this thread was a year old. Bottom line is this is our copyrighted work and it states very clearly it may not be altered. Don't like the policy then don't purchase the license. End of story.

Yeah that's exactly it....all those draconian rules make me really wanna rush out there and buy those themes.

And I just like to call out bullshit when I see it, that's all. I mean yeah...I totally understand if people were redistributing your stuff...go after 'em (like the recent thing) but come on...telling people they can't change a font or whatever? That's overkill on the control freak scale.

Bebi Bulma,I think the point is that this skin has been altered.  Altering skins for your personal use is one thing.  Altering skins and then showing them off to the world is another.  And doing it on a Web site whose only purpose is for people to download skins and themes is unacceptable.  I understand TheSkinsFactory concern here.  It's unfortunate that because there is little recourse you believe it's acceptable.   

Kendawg78: Exactly. I don't care what people do on their own for their personal use. I care when they modify our work and then display it. Someone who doesn't know better might think this is how our theme looks and not like it. They could then get a bad opinion of Hyperdesk based on this modified version and comment about us on other forums which could end up damaging our brand that we work so hard on to perfect.

But that is entirely the point. We're all in this because we are *customizers.* So you offer us a custom skin, because that's what we do, customize our computers, and then we're told we *can't* customize it, even though that is the whole purpose? It's just over the top.

BTW, I changed the taskbar button font colors and fonts on a subscriber skin, ohnoes!

If they're too inept to not actually *research* it first, then screw 'em anyway. Although....I gotta say, offering actual in-use screenshots (instead of just mockups, more in depth) would go a long way for showing off the skins on the product pages (yes I see there are some bits, but it's a lot of closeup mockups). That way people wouldn't have to go digging around the net to find the skins in action.

As far as changing subscriber skins, that's up to Stardock. They don't mind it? Great. We mind. Like we've said in the past what you do in your own home is fine but don't display our work altered in public. We own the copyrights.
