Their server or ISP are right back on their usual flaws!

Nothing stable yet, i suppose.

Sven, I-Mod should really SUE them for breach of contract and services you & we all pay for.

I have no solution, for I don't know the reason of the problem. E-Mail transmission to one.com, telus.net and aol.com broke down some days ago, so these services aren't available atm. Oneandone.com is back online (at least today/now).

If I'd had an idea what to do, I'd let you know but at the moment I can only admit you, to talk to your ISP for I cannot find a problem on our server.

EDIT: We cannot sue our ISP for happenings, our ISP isn't responsible for - it is only possible taht the customers of the ISP's who are affected sue their ISP's for we have no contracts with AOL neither with one.com nor with telus.net.

Strangely, it seems everything is back to normal again, Sven. I know i gave my own ISP some calls, but they certainly won't admit the NY state server was the guilty part of this mess and even if i could prove (with absolute evidence ) to them that it was the case i'm sure they'd laughed me out of their billing. And say - pay it and shut up. Service, my a**.

45$x12=540$ for Sympatico (feedthroughs by msn.com, no less)... none of it deserved by the www itself over the last two weeks.

JUST because, I-Mod was offline from no faults of their own.

From Dallas to NewYork to Washington to a few more junk servers and they're right back cutting me off your site.

I'm freezing my payments to Bell Sympatico, today.

I can only admit to think over before doing anything.

This was perhaps as clear as any of Zyx's posts.

(Read: Not at all.)

You okay?

I think he's saying to Zyx that he should think over a bit before doing something like refusing to pay his ISP. And cut Sven some slack, both him and Zyx are non-native English speakers.

I am actually so confused about this whole roller-coaster On_OFF_on for two days_OFF_on for a week_OFF & again that harsh reactions may be the only solution; if i had proof of the exact poisonous flaw i could find a cure for it.

ISP won't help, multiple verifications made locally, calls, scan, Domain Hi-Jacks, Firewall settings, pings, tracert -- the battle is ongoing with no truce in plain sight.

Mind & mood are wrecked just by thinking i failed miserably at determining the cause, at a diagnostic identifying THE server and applying the right remedy.

If it's I-Mod's fault **directly**, then i'll stop "worrying" so much. Cuz, i guess Sven or Stefan can fix it.

If it's their ISP, they should be as tough and reactive about this issue as i've been lately.

If it's hacker(s), we should ditch the idiot(s) and fight back. We really can ya know.

If it's my ISP server, i shouldn't be charged ANY money for such a restricted access. However thin or Germanized by bad luck or neglect by anyone.

For anything else -- there's always the fact that patience sometimes works and that eventually, things will constantly run as smooth as they should.

Would you please get OFF my case for being at times "hard to comprehend" and turn ON the tolerance switch permanently, the joke is over.

Everyone knows about it by now.

All internet users went to schools (or not enough)- are certainly intelligent from where they are at this moment of their lives, in which social areas they grew in, how they managed to speak more than a single language -- the result being you and i certainly had teachers before, but you weren't one of these.

As for me it was a matter of College, then University years ago. Gobble up my meanings or leave it alone.

In my original post I somehow thought it was Stefan posting; I must have been tired.  Hence my higher than normal confusion.  I apologize, Sven.

It's not so much that the wording was unclear but rather that the relevance was unclear, at least to me; however if Sven is handling things server-side at I-Mod then it all makes sense.  (This does contradict my earlier sentences somewhat but it was 5:30am here and I hadn't yet slept...)

@Zyx

I hope you understand by now that I truly mean no offense; I've even attempted to defend you in a thread or three-without knowing exactly what you were saying, I might add.  I can glean the meaning from most of your posts, but some of them elude me, and I'd rather not have such free reigns to interpret them and perhaps take them out of context.

What is wrong with the postings? I simply wrote, what should be clear anyways.

Fact: our server is not the problem - as far as we/I know at this moment.

I was simply not sure, if attacking the ISP with (metaphoric) "ABC-Weapons" will solve the problem - but I generalized my statement to appeal to anyone.

ATM it looks like the (WAN-)routing is not correct, but the (WAN-)routing is neither controlled by us, nor by Keyweb (our Provider). So the problem is located in (once more metaphoric) no man's land. The only solution (in my eyes) is to address the ISP's that they can try to handle this problem, because they are bigger than each individiual user of I-Mod/GC2.com.

Clear/correct enough, or is  there a need that I write in pictures? ;P

Anyways: Happy Easter to all of you, may the rabbit fix WAN-routing!

Nothing.

I was confused as to the relevance largely because I was confused as to who had done the posting, as well as it being 5:30am and my not having slept for somewhere in the vicinity of 36 hours, which the first and second reasons were caused by.

I can only blame myself.

Hopefully we can get back on track now.  :S  Apologies for the interruptions.

Yes, buddy... it's just, well - never mind.

WAN routing?

Alright, let's dump this theory into the mix when Bell service rabbit people call me back next Monday. Last eMail they sent me, believe it or not, was to suggest modifying IE7 security settings -- that's exactly when i got really upset.

I think i'm gonna slam the SpeedStream 4200 router into the wall if they DON'T fix this or at least admit their server might also be part of the problem. Area code phone lines, firewall settings, hackers, you tell me - Sven. I'm as confused as you may be.

Sadly, each and every ISPs just grab our cash and run away with it. They treat Internet Users as dummies (which i am or not, btw). I do have a blocked UDP port, but there's an extremely good reason why.

It's not Local, it's broadband - AFAIC. Bandwidth hi-jacks and/or domain attacks.

I won't pay a cent for this junk unless repaired worldwide or less by whomever responsible and if it happens to be me - i'll blush like a Red-Dwarf.

Has Cronk revised X-Worlds 05-F for the MMV?

hi zyx, unfortunately, cronk is having some hollidays without telling us. Until he has finished the mmv developer client, we have to wait for him, so he can manually validate x worlds.

Please be patient, he will get his rebuke and validate your mod soon.

All good and nice, i'm being enforced to wait anyway - Library here since January and at any I-Mod sites (including the Wiki, the MMV & its client side) for some mysterious reasons still unclear.

05-F should eventually be replaced by 06-A as soon as both issues above are resolved soooooo much that stability becomes part of the fun rather than silly obstacles.

Patiency is key, i guess. Year & months roll on like stopwatch gaps lately, though.

Tks, Stefan.

I found a 3D modeler (possibly) for X3G, want his coordinates?

thanks zyx, we allways need 3d modellers, x3gc2 will probably go into beta without 3d models but with new shipstyles later this year, the work which is to do (converting the ships) scared every modeller we had, but I could need him for New Frontiers, so just bring him over to I-Mod or give him my e-mail addy (stefan @ i-mod-productions . com)

thanks a lot ;)

hope things work stable soon.

I'm sure you'll be happy to learn that YOUR problems are most probably over.

Microsoft updated Vista yesterday and whatever KB security file they installed on my PC - fixed it.

Let's hope it holds the test of time and that I-Mod-Productions gets the whole attention it deserves.

And, release GerandorX (i need that wild Circular mini-map & other UI enhancements!) - already.

:jafo:

No... but, we'll have to wait another month (or more) for their next round of KB files - as usual to take any actions against some OS vulnerabilities! :P

(PS; i think Winsock might have had something to do with this whole mess, or possibly a RootKit Domains Hi-Jacker, or, or, or...)

Well, i'll be darned - it's right back OFFLINE again.

Is I-mod's ability to send email to aol.com up or down at the moment?  I ask because I have been waiting for several hours for my account verification.

Of course, there is a big hint on our mainpage about it...

EDIT: Once more:

#1: All, having problems getting the confirmation-mail have to contact me via ICQ/MSN/AIM/YAHOO to get their account activated manually - all data are on my profile-page @ i-mod (Click here.)
For I am not that active on gc2.com, it is not the best idea to send me a PM here, but I try to visit this site as often as possible at the moment.

#2: If you cannot reach the site at all, please contact your ISP.

Here a list of known ISP's having problems with us:

1and1.com (including fox.ca)
AOL.com (including aim.com)

PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER, IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THE E-MAIL PROVIDERS LISTED ABOVE! IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE USE ANOTHER E-MAIL ADDRESS TO REGISTER WITH US.
