Re-assuring to know i'm not the only one experiencing this strange situation... that even prevents me from continuing the MrKorx's IDE beta "communication" pipeline **before** he releases a possible final public compile without the latest input from us.

At first, i thought the brand new AVG firewall had somehow blocked me out of the whole Germany net grid altogether! :annoyed:

(Heck, even their Screenshots aren't loaded here)

I fixed the connection problems in the current version, keep cool ;)

Please remember this is a beta, it's the first time we test on a wider range of platforms. We are pleased for your bugreports ;).

When someone wants an empire to be added to the MMV do they have to request it. Also do we have to play mods in order to submit games.

That should now be fixed, please try again.

Also, ditto what Cronk said, this is a beta, so bugs are to be expected ;) .

zyxpsilon and i are talking about connection problems to the site, not the MMV.

Our hoster had an attack on their systems last week, so we encountered some crashes. It seems the effect last longer on non-germany-located users, sry for the circumstances.

Arrrggh... bad timing! Right in the thick of a release for such a key new feature of I-Mod.

I guess we'll have to try logging on for a few days until, *pouf* everything returns to normal.

Hi there!

today I wrote up everything you need to know about the MMV and how to join.

These links should be of interest:

But this is ot enough! We decided to release a little demo of the upcoming New Frontiers Addon, showing you the new graphics, unlocking more weapons...and: listen to the New Frontiers Soundtrack, composed by Cornelis Jordaan!

The Mod is called Ultimate FX Mod and you will be able to download it in the next 30 hours.

and the best:

Yeah, well good for anyone who can reach those links, but i'm STILL unable to access anything as of this moment!

If the problem seems to be for people in North America (no problems here in the UK), you could try going through a European proxy as a temporary workaround.

Proxy?

Pfffft. I had it all barely last week on my regular ISP feed super-bandwidth of a $40 per month access, maybe Canada is off the planet and our servers are too slow to even keep up with some I-Mod servers which crashed away except for Germany users?

It's always been slow for D/L, i can't imagine a reset through solid firewall local settings and a silly switch to Proxy vulnerability pipelines would solve their own site problems.

I'm that patient with flaws i can't control.

i've tried using proxies...it works....it's just not that safe.

The whole site is still down for me... When do you estimate it will be fixed?

its not a matter of fixing, its a matter of your provider. It has something to do with DNS, if your provider restores and gets the new dns, then you can access to the site again.

Ahhhhh.... DNS, i knew my new Firewall program settings might had something to do with this weird situation; let me check this out & i'll confirm.

Darn ISP, domain, local, ports, UDP, highly secured bandwidths against indirect Piracy attempts, etc.

(EDIT; after a thorough verification of everything here... it's definitely your ISP or server settings.)

Scoutdog & DSep, tell me... do you see the screenshots from the first post above by I-Mod?

Cuz, it might explain & prove that THEIR feed is broken.

do you see the screenshots from the first post above by I-Mod?

No. They are black, and you can click on them but it takes you to a "broken link" page.

is your provider 1 & 1?

there is a new Mod out for download, Ultimate FX Mod for TA.

you can download it here

Okay Guys...

The DNS-thing Stefan mentioned is totally rubbish, sorry for that.

Here is, what is the true problem:
Beginning last weeks ago, a Radio-Bot which is running on our server connecting to a server in the USA for validating the license stopped working, tracert (Start->Run-> Type "cmd" (without "") into cmd: tracert <domain>) showed me, that 1 and 1 (in Germany 1und1, 1&1) exactely one server of them is swallowing our signal. In fact I contacted Keyweb (our hoster) and 1and1 but 1and1 stalled us, mentioning they can't do anything (which of course appears to me as alibi because we are not customers of them). Today I talked to Keyweb to talk to 1and1 what they did, but they also said, that it is to see, that it presumably won't be succesful.

My hint: run tracert with i-mod-productions.com (in cmd type: "tracert i-mod-productions.com" without "") and check where the signal is stuck - if you are customer of 1and1 and it is stuck at a server of them, tell them, that you have problems to connect so they may solve the problem. I hope the pure quantity of customers may help, but we are f**ked atm, cause 1and1 jacknifes.

Germany link to both of us and this forum... that shortens the pings ratio detection to point at the exact bad ISP server.

And, according to Sven it *could* be anywhere between the US & Europe for the swallow call.

You'd think Bell Toronto (cuz, that's exactly where i'm being funneled, btw) would be solid enough to talk at least two languages, AFAIC.

so, we mailed the american 1&1 provider and confrontated them with the problem. Let's see what happens next.

Out of a loop, and waiting, tks.

Contacted Bell and sadly, no sysop to even talk too. These ISP take our money and whatever happens next isn't their fault.

I even ran a tracert test and their server delayed on 25+ successive time-outs trying to open "Documents that contain no Data" from I-Mod site(s) -- any, even the wiki.

At first, i thought some local firewall settings might have interfered but it certainly looks like GC2 Forums can't pull their screenshots out of Germany.

So... sven, any news?

Your error message says that "documents contain no data"? That's odd... mine is a google poput that says the link "appears broken".

I'd really like to hear about Sven's solution to this whole silly mess - now that it's all finally back up & running.

I guess a bunch of ISPs woke up the hard way after the many, many direct calls they received from angry members and consumers paying for service they stopped obtaining.

:troll:

lucky you! i still can't get on to the site!
