Diamond Update

It sounds like they are encrypted.

What version of WB or MyColors are you using.  I'd check for updates.

I tried to install the Diamond theme today, but I have the same problem. The toolbars and window frames are garbage.

I tried uninstall/install through MyColors.  I tried uninstall/install through Impulse. All have the same problem.

Do you have a trial of WindowBlinds installed? If so uninstall it and restart. Also are your video drivers up to date?

No trial of WindowsBlinds is installed. Updated the nvidia video drivers from version 177.83 to 178.24. But still garbage when trying to use the diamond theme. The Think Green theme (also a nice theme) works fine.

Also have the same problem and running Vista Ultimate. All was fine before the update and now useless. Tried downloading and installing three times with no luck.

All drivers and apps are completely up to date.

Same here, all showed as encrypted fuzz.  After trying to apply a few times, Diamond WB wouldn't load at all. XPHomeSP3, Impulse tells me I'm current on WB.  Restored backed up 1 prior version of Diamond and it's still fine.

Problem has been resolved for me with the update for WB that came through yesterday.

None of my "MyColors" themes work for me, none at all, and I have quite a few, I have had the fuzzy blocks as toolbars for I don't know how long, I submitted a ticket long ago, and Stardock never got back to me, now I really want to start using them I can't, but Stardock is trying to sort it out, I was hoping all these updates as of late would have helped, but still nothing at all, I hope they fix it soon, as I am dying to try some of the new ones I bought Out.....ok thats me finished, thanks for listening Ha Ha....its just I thought I was the only one with the problem, but as I say I have had it for ages now....Ok thats me really finished

Latest version of Diamond

I just tried deleting Diamond from MyColors and WB as did not work after last update.

Then DL from StarDock Mycolors Site

https://www.stardock.com/products/mycolors/downloads.asp

and now works ok till next update anyway.

That did the trick; deleting and redownloading thru MyColors does not, still gives the corrupted file.

Looks like there is something wrong with the version downloaded through Impulse and MyColors.

Don't forget to stash a copy of the working version you've got - someday that StarDock page version is bound to change.  What the heck, be bold and back them all up.

One thing you should try if you are having troubles with the latest update is to click on the Settings tab in MyColors then check for updates. This should provide you with the lastest version people are downloading fresh from the main website with out all the uninstall/reinstall.

Since I have an unfair time advantage maybe this will help.  The file they're talking about from https://www.stardock.com/products/mycolors/downloads.asp extracts a Diamond.MyColors file of 29,605.743 bytes, which is the exact same size as the version I installed in April (maybe from the same place, don't remember).  I'm not saying it should be changed, it's a good solid "go-to" version that works.  Each version filesize naturally varies some.

The next version that I installed through Impulse in August, filesize of 29.609.048 didn't decrypt right for me, and I remember seeing a post from Cavan that it didn't work for him either.  I went back to my previous version.

The next version through Impulse in September, that would be the first one that used an activation code, worked fine for me and that's what I've been using.

This last version doesn't decrypt, my screen looks just like Cavan's screenshot up there.  I get the same file downloading through either Impulse or MyColors (makes sense.)  I"m running XPHome, and I think Cavan's on XP too.  While I was just now trying to load this version through WBConfig, I accidently loaded the Vista version, and the Vista version loaded.  Still can't get the XP version to load.  MyColors of course would try to load the XP version.

I think this version's having an XP fart.

DLing diamond now at 28.2mb from website for Mycolors.. Applying it to XP Pro with no WB or anything but Mycolors.

As I thought no problems what so ever - icons are good and wb is working fine with Mycolors on this one here for Diamond.

Now with Impulse updating WB on another machine to version 6.30.100 and then will run Mycolors with Diamond after the update. Restarting and have wbconfig is up on login. So back to Impulse and Mycolors free version being installed... now DLing Diamond from Mycolors website with free version open...applying diamond...no problems we have Diamond with icons and wallpaper via Mycolors - NO Problems here on two machines both XP Pro.

Really starnge problem there guys! I wish I could reproduce it here? But I can not...

Maybe I need that XP SP3 version? Can I get a link to the download for that update??? Oh so I need to try Vesta - ok here it goes...

Nope it works there too with Mycolors and/or WBconfig for whatever version I want to load. You guys some kind of problem here. Maybe you need to buy some beano for that XP of yours. It might relieve the presure it is under. Like wow man!!!

Till then we need better info to resolve or just say reproduce the problem here to find an answer for you and that XP machine of yours.

I'm just trying to feed the information pool, Greater Good and all that, it does seem like these Diamond themes have a tendency to go sideways.  Doesn't bother me a bit to use the theme from last month instead of this month.

Hey Shelbygt, the version from MyColors site is the one that is working fine, it is when updating Diamond thru Impulse or MyColors (I believe, not tested ) that this issue happens. From Mycolors site and thru Impulse the version number is the same. I believe that the last update thru Impulse for Diamond, if I am remembering correctly, that it was the toolbar icons that where broken, but again from the MyColors site all worked well.

Nice attention to detail there Cavan, I missed that [sigh].  Oh well, I'm glad I at least dazzled you with my highly technical summary before [-little laughing smiley face is MIA-]

The only way I could get Diamond to work without fuzziness or pink and black parts to the skin was to uninstall WB, reboot and install WB again!

I am having the problem with Think Green, nover had the problem with Diamond, not having the problem with any other blinks or MyColors themes and its the same story on my notebook too
