Diamond Update

Diamond Update

I have update the Diamond theme only to find the toolbars and Windows dialog boxes all look like a 1952 tv screen... all snowy. I have uninstalled the theme and then downloaded and reinstalled, only to have the same problem.

uninstalling WB - rebooting - re-installing WB didn't fix it nor did uninstalling the theme and then re-installing it help either. i suspect it may have something to do with encryption because i had the issue where it wouldn't load, told me i needed a key, then impulse was fixed and i could add it as a free theme.

I have sent you a PM of your updated account info. Please look to see that it is the registration that is being used for Diamond.

What was the solution to this? I am having this same issue and my theme looks like Cavan1's when I apply it. Bunch of noise on the bars. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, cleaning registry, rebooting etc and downloading the setup file from the site rather than using Impulse, all fails to work. I am using the free version of MyColors and the Diamond skin.

MyColors Version: 2.50.250

Windows XP (Professional) Build: 2600 Service Pack 3

Wblind.dll 11/07/2008 17:08:02 458826
Wbsrv.dll Unknown
Thememgr.exe 11/07/2008 17:08:02 647168
Wbload.exe 10/14/2008 15:33:32 388904
Wbload.dll 03/12/2008 16:11:10 59056
Screen.exe Unknown

Sokkratez and others having this issue,

This may be because there are some registry entries that are incorrect and need to  be manually updated.

You'll need to go into the registry editor to verify/updated the keys. To do that, press the Windows key and the r key at the same time. In the box that comes up type in regedit and press enter.

Using the navigation pane on the left, navigate to the following key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\ObjectDesktop\WindowBlinds\Path

If you just have MyColors installed this value should be:

32 Bit:   C:\Program Files\Stardock\MyColors
64 Bit:   C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\MyColors

If you have both MyColors and WindowBlinds installed, the value should be:

32 Bit: C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds
64 Bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds

If the value is different, please change it to what it should be and then reboot your pc and try the theme again.

If all of the above is correct, what then? I double checked this and still nothing.

the Diamond MyColors theme does not load the skin properly, ie task bar, start menu and buttons all come up as multi-colored blocks. Now this is under XP sp3, I have recenty tried the free and registered version, neither loads the skin properly..

Using Vista - No problem..

Seeing that this thread is rather old - one would figure that the issues here would of been addressed or the theme removed.. Since it is also a free theme maybe that is why is has not been corrected or addressed..

But if someone chooses to download that theme first and test it, that may likely be the last download they do..

As it does appear to miss up your computer and turn your whole task bar, menu buttons, start menu into one big fuzzy mess..

It is time to either remove the theme or fix it.. What do you think??
