now work

now: Upload has not initialized properly. Flash v9.0.28 or greater is required.  :waaaa:

Because flash is used for the process of uploading them.

And this makes him ponder out loud; Is this part of the "impulse" package or a stand alone process (what is "impulse" anyhow)? will I still be able to upload my pics in the traditional non-ad method or has this been changed also? Is the direction of this site to become "flash" required to use? will my dog have kittens?

neophil, I'm wondering if its a problem with the fact that you're using a french install of Windows. I know that some other countries use a comma for a demical point so perhaps its some sort of localization issue. It's a shot in the dark but I'm looking into it.

Wimpy, a flash discussion is better suited for a new post in a different forum.

neophil, please load this page in your browser https://forums.wincustomize.com/swfobject/index_dynamic.html

You should see a popup which says 'Has minimum version: ...'; Please tell me if it says true or false. You should also see the green flash applet load with the version number that you're using printed on it.

Has Minimum Version: true

Version: WIN 9,0,124,0 (literally mentioned with comma instead of point  )

There should be no green applet. Just the popup message. Please let me know what it says.

And the surprise (i like surprises  ) was:

Has Minimum Version: true

Ok, now please go to https://forums.wincustomize.com/accounts/images and please tell me if you get a message that says 'Minimum Flash Version Not Installed'

X(  I still get "Upload has not initialized properly. Flash v9.0.28 or greater is required."

please tell me if you get a message that says 'Minimum Flash Version Not Installed'

So do you get a message that says 'Minimum Flash Version Not Installed' or not?

Quote is neither working though:

... and at the very bottom of page:

#1051153  balsa02   Server Load Time: 00:00:00.0000015   Page Render Time: 0:0:2:344 (2344ms)

... if it may help ...

Please do not comment on issues that are not related to this post.

If you are not getting the 'Minimum Flash Version Not Installed' message then the correct Flash version is installed, but your browser is not correctly rendering the flash applet. It's a problem with your computer, Flash installation or browser(s). There isn't anything more I can do to help you troubleshoot this problem.

We use SWFUpload from http://www.swfupload.org/. Perhaps you can find some more assistance there as to why the flash will not load on your computer.

but your browser is not correctly rendering the flash applet. It's a problem with your computer, Flash installation or browser(s).

Can't understand, MY browser is telling me Flash is correctly installed and is rendering applet correctly on any other website using Flash  :annoyed:

I'll have a look on http://www.swfupload.org/

OK, even if i've not any trouble elsewhere with Flash, i think i know from where comes the trouble.

I'm using an IE7 Add-on (IE7PRO ==> http://www.ie7pro.com/?language=en  ) which part of it seems to be uncompatible with SWFUpload. I've disabled all users scripts of it, and as doing this, uploading works (these scripts have nothing to do with Flash - as far as i could know -, but their coding, at least one off them, is surely the responsable ... )

I'll do some tests to localize what is exactly the origin of trouble and will report it there as there may be other Wincustomize subscribers using this Add-On.

Thanks for your effort Andrew_

Thank YOU for your persistence in finding the cause. I'm sure this information will help users moving ahead :)

Shame on me (don't hit my head, don't hit my head O:) ) it's a Flash Pubs filter which is the responsable.

But trouble keeps the same with or without this filter through Impulse / Community / My Account / Images with the terrific coming message "Upload has not initialized properly. Flash v9.0.28 or greater is required." ...

On any other website, this Flash Pub filter causes no problem at all as Any Flash animation can be (if wanted) re-activate just by clicking on it.

I assume others who have troubles uploading images may have some kind of firewall with an antipub in

I still get "Upload has not initialized properly. Flash v9.0.28 or greater is required."

Even with all this, I still get the exact same message. I have flash 9.0.142 installed which is the latest version on the Adobe website.

I get this same message on 2 different systems, in IE7 and FF3, very few addons to each (none mentioned here previously), both are US English XP SP3 (I am in the US, what else would I use?).

Also the above links only show Error 404 Page not found...

screwball, thanks for adding to the post.I should have mentioned that those test links were just for neophil at the time. We've since removed the content those links point to. I've put that content back up for you to try testing with though. Please let me know how that turns out.

As we discovered with neophil, it was something on his system (in his case an IE7 addon) which was preventing the page from working correctly. We have many, many users who are using the upload successfully and are having no problems and that is also the case with all of our test systems. I would encourage you to take a look at your browsers and if you have any addons or extensions, please try disabling them. If you've exhausted all of the possible solutions listed in this post, I can only assume its a problem with your system or browsers that we haven't yet been able to identify.

Hello,

https://forums.wincustomize.com/swfobject/index_dynamic.html

Result: Has Minimum Version: true

https://forums.wincustomize.com/swfobject/index_old.html

Result: Has Minimum Version: true

At impulsedriven.net/dashboard/account/images:

Upload has not initialized properly. Flash v9.0.28 or greater is required.

NOTE I have 9.0.124 it is the highest version on Flash site; how is it that you require a number higher than the official release please? Experience and logic tell me that if version 56.235 is just out, you should never ask for 56.236 - even if it works 8-)

At https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/account/images

Upload has not initialized properly. Flash v.9.0.28 or greater is required.

Tried the F5 refresh; no difference.

Tried with FireFox 3.01 and with an old (6.something I think) Exploder. No real difference (the *precise* error messages may differ; all these above are exact and from FF).

If I have any plugins/extentions for FF it would be IE Tab & Fire-FTP but disabling them makes 0 difference (I just tested it and restarted FF).

Point of interest (maybe this means something to someone?): neither IE Tab nor Fire-FTP have been working since FF 3.01 (?)

Well I give up. Any clue on what I might want to change under FF Options perhaps? Javascript and such are not my forte I must confess.

Thanks and good luck,

Lucas aka Sinful
