Gameplay Video at PAX

At last, someone who brought a camera with them at PAX 2008!

Don't get too excited though, it's just 20 seconds, closeup, of Torchbearer casting a spell.

Still enough to let us get an idea about the UI.

Also the stun mines are much higher up on the skill tree if that affects anything, you'll have 3 levels in damage mines, before one level in stun.

I saw regulus as a mix of techies and sniper (if you play dota.)

I think that the mines will be incredibly useful, especially for a sniper style character. He could whittle a wave down quite nicely with damage mines or plant a bunch of stun mines so that the enemy creeps are helpless for the first few seconds of a fight. If mines are done well, I think they could definitely be awesome. They don't particularly sound it, but if the effect is good enough, they could be quite enjoyable. Also, there's something to be said for stun mining the enemy column, and then when they go off, hitting it with a mass of angels. I see the mines as something like the claymores in FPS games: unexciting in concept, tricky to deploy, but amazing when they pay off. Either that or I probably won't like them.

The fat men are pretty sweet! This was an awesome little taste.

Im sure it will not be that easy. And I think the mines will not a lot of bite to them. (I think they wont do a lot of damage)

You have no way to know that though.  Mines are often pretty useless in other games since they can be avoided or removed, but in Demigod you have uncontrollable units going on a set path.  That just begs for good mine use.

It really does. I think that the mines may turn out to be one of my favorite abilities. Just imagine the mayhem they could cause...

There's a hero in DotA with mines. What you can do is place 5-6 mines in a single spot and instagib any hero that walks over it. There's plenty of places that they always walk by so it's not too hard to do. You just gotta not get seen planting them.

Said hero also has remote mines, and can destroy an entire team of enemy heroes using them.

Sorry for this kinda being off the current topic...

But is everyone here fimilar with the supreme commander camera style?

And,

Does anyone know if the action style will be similar to supreme commander?

As in, Is right click the "Move / Do it" command and the Left "selection and Cancel selection"

(People fimilar with supreme commander know what I am talking about.)

well if anyone plays techies from dota u throw down a lot of dmg and a stun mine and then kite a hero to where they are then u gank the hell outta him

both will be useful dont worry

Yes it is Cooley, its control scheme is like most RTS games as far as the mouse goes.

Alright thanks, I actually got quite used to the Supreme Mouse Scheme, when I got bored of SC-FA I had a hard time reverting to normal :P

Yeah, the zoom is so damn useful. Sins' camera is just like it, and I can't do without it. Sins would be quite literally unplayable without that level of zoom use.

The one anoyying thing about sins is the Auto Track feature... sometimes it just gets anoyying but at others its useful.

True, that is a bit annoying, but if you can manage it right, it's very useful for staying in a battle.
