However, I think g52 should be allowed to stay... to provide some 'hotter than hot' entertainment value around here.

At Stardock we welcome criticism and conversation about our products. The limits we place on that extend only to civility and constructive dialog. For those that have lost the privilege to post in these and other SD forums it is due to the fact that they contributed nothing but strong sentiments of hate and anger, and we know what side that leads to. While I know you did not imply that he not be allowed to post here I thought perhaps I would touch on the subject since it is often brought up.

So long as g52 can keep his dislike of our products to a civil tongue he is more than welcome to express his thoughts on our software here in our forums. Just as everyone in this thread is free to express their own thoughts on his earlier comments.

To make a simple analogy in this dialog please look to this: You don't need to like my choice of carpet, you can tell me so, however if you come into my house and scream at the top of your lungs about how you hate it and I am a terrible person for having it you will be exiting my home far quicker than you imagined, or would want. You just wouldn't do that in the real world, it would be crazy. It is a simple mater of courtesy to those that provide not only the software you don't like but the means to express it to millions of viewers per month all for free.

My previous responses were sincere, as was my reminder to remain civil.

I would like to invite you g52 to try any of our software, I think you might be pleasantly surprised. Should you have any questions at all I can personally vouch for myself and the support staff that we would assist you in those questions or concerns.

Of course not...g52 is as entitled as anyone else to post here providing the dialogue is civil, etc. My comment was just a bit of 'tongue in cheek' to add a bit of levity to the situation.... cos the injection of a bit of humour can often help to defuse volatile situations when they become too serious/leading towards unpleasantries. :)

And g52, I use quite a few of Stardock's customisation programs and find that my rig actually runs better with them than not - as in Windowblinds actually loads faster than Windows default themes, etc - and I do NOT find them to be bloatware. Of course one could bloat their desktop through over-use. However, that doesn't make the apps bloatware, but rather an inexperienced or poor user decision. Used properly, Stardock customisation apps are/can be productive as well as aesthetically pleasing.

Am I a fanboi?? Well yeah, sort of... but I'm not a zealot and I sure hate it when things don't work properly/do as they're supposed to, so I'm not giving Stardock any undeserved kudos here. Also, you have nothing to lose by taking up Seabass' offer - what products aren't free have a free evaluation period - so why not give them a go to see what all the fuss is about, you might just be pleasantly surprised and love them as well all do. :)

Looking at the rate at which WC threads/forum posters change topic all the time, this thread will be a 200 pages long animated gif filled pile before the weekend. Or it will be nuked

Some great advice.I think you got some misguided opinions from your friends, and some of us here may be a bit biased because we love the products.I started with OD free and the demo of WB and saw for myself how they worked on my machine. That's what trials are for.
Get the facts for yourself, then decide.Stardock earned my money by living up to my expectations. Are they perfect? Of course not, nothing is.Is it fun? You Betcha! ;)

Where, I don't see it...

She stepped out for a while and come sat on my lap. :d

She said something like: "Now let's talk about the first thing that pops up!"

I guess we were on different wavelengths, tho...she was talking about docks while I was talking about... well let's just say we were having entirely different conversations.

Funny, that! Seemed like we were agreeing on so much. :SURPRISED: (:(

Hehe, would loved to have seen the look on her face when she realised we weren't.

*Uh-oh!! Time for some pills and bed... obviously it's been a much longer day than I had thought*
