I shut down all security software (Outpost Firewall Pro 2009, disabled NOD32 3.0.669) and tried to update from 6.10 via Impulse.

Result: WB displayed a message about disable security software and reboot (which resulted in the same), eventually reinstall.

Question: How much more disabled can they be? I even disabled OPF's services.
And where is the option to reinstall an installed product (not on the rightclick menu, I've checked)?

This is starting to remind me about the (still ongoing) IP4 fiasco already.

Back to 6.10.. Thankfully I had an image to go back to..
Imaging software seriously pays off..

If you get that message then something is breaking WB.  The same thing should be breaking WB 6.1 as well (All WBs since WB5 in fact)

The other reason for that message is wbsrv.dll is missing from the WB dir.

I'm currently retrying (this means redownloading as Download & Archive doesn't exist for a installed product), this time with all security software uninstalled, ccleaned, etc.

Btw, the messagebox after running 'Verify' should at least allow redownloading or whatever.. not just pointing to a update that doesn't exist (look for a update/patch said in a generic way)..

I've never experienced such issues at all with WB4, 5, or 6 until this time around, come to think of it, before IP4 the same was true for that product.

I've now installed WB6.2 again.. Same problem..

Oh, and no wbsrv.dll exists.

Constant & endless download of wb6.sdc - gets to 100% and starts again. Reboot, same thing.

I have not been able to update since W/Bs 6.0. I have tried all that has been suggested to me by support but to no avail. Needless to say 6.2 dosnt work for me also. When my subscription is due next month i will not be renewing as i cannot upgrade W/Bs, which is my main programme.

On Windows XP if you are going to be doing a fresh install of WindowBlinds 6.2 and MyColors 2.5 users may encounter issues using the web installer. Please use Impulse and install through MyColors 2.5 first, reboot then WindowBlinds 6.20. Updates to existing installs should not have a problem. We are working to resolve this issue quickly and will post back here when the web installers have been updated.

This issue with the web installer has been resolved.  Please re-download the web installer if downloaded earlier today.

In SDC please try the following:

 -Go to Tools->Settings
 -Click the Internet section
-Click the "Refresh XML Data" button

Run this program: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/clear_cache_sdc.bat

Let me know if that works for you.

I updated my Vista Ultimate and XP Pro using Impulse. Why isn't everyone using Impulse?

Impulse is the prefered method by Stardock to install your files.

@Almonty, you managed to update to WB6.2 using XP?

I'm running XP Pro SP3 fully updated and somehow it forgets to add the wbsrv.dll to my installation.
Has this been fixed now or?

I ask because three times of reimaging the drive is enough in trying to get it to work properly..

Maybe I'll try a clean install later if I'm in the mood. However, sometimes this can create more havoc than just trying to update.

Well, I've been using SDC for the past 45 minutes... Done ALL the suggestions... It just keeps re-downloading and re-downloading and re-downloading some more.
