To find out how much, go to Control Panel and open up "Sytem." Look under the general tab, which is probably what will already be up, and the amount of RAM you have should be somewhere on the bottom.
Come on, don't make me take this back, I really want to play
Hey guys,
Just got back from the weekend...we're on it ![]()
You can add more RAM memory by purchasing more at a store like Best Buy. It's super easy to install, but if you need help, you can read this link or google: "How To Install RAM" and find your own instructions depending on the level of help you need.
I'll try it, but not everyone who buys the box game will be willing to do so.
$20 or less, depending on what type you need.
As Brad suggested, Impulse may not prevent you from installing the game because of RAM.
However, you should make sure that you have enough virtual memory allocated so that you don't get additional slowdown from Windows having to dynamically increase the amount of virtual memory while playing the game.
To increase the amount of Virtual Memory available to Windows:
1) Right click on the My Computer icon and chose properties
2) Click on the advanced tab
3) Under performance, click on the Settings button.
4) Click on the advanced tab
5) Click on the change button
6) Change the initial size to the recommended size and then increase the maximum size.
As a note, you should make sure that you have enough hard drive space left for the maximum virtual memory size or you'll start having problems whenever Windows has to allocate more virtual memory. You can get the size of the virtual memory in gigs by dividing the number by 1024.
I have more than enough memory left. I spent $20 on this game.
If you already bought the game at a store, then you can install off the retail disc and it'll install Impulse for you (if I remember correctly). Then you use it to get updates.
If you bought the game digitally from our website, then you should have gotten some kind of email confirmation that tells you how to download the game (ie. get impulse).
Here's where you can get Impulse though: Impulse website
The problem is that the game won't let many people install it at all. The Impulse install is after the regular game install, so no impulse either.
I think that's why Charles posted the link ![]()
As for not reading the customers concerns, besides posting the link to get Impulse (which does let you install) there's not much that can be done/said about CD's that have already been printed. At best, it's something that will have to be fixed in the next run.
