I think its open and the term beta is just there to cover their butts for the buggyness :P

and will you please change your mind about providing a separate download of the patch, your funky system is all well and good but i like to archive particular patches so i can revisit the game years in the future and play my favourite mods.

I would agree with that Furunculus, I tend to keep hold of my patches too so that I can re-install and re-apply then whenever I like etc. Even though other games auto-patch I always seek out an exe file for it because I just prefer it that way.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough -- "as in joining it" I meant "as in downloading it" as in when the bloody hell does is actually start" as in I want an exact date!

"Thirding" the option. Providing standalone patches as a choice are a good way to keep many customers happy.

Been out of the loop for a couple of weeks can't wait to get back online.
I also can't wait to see what the changes do to the tactics employeed ingame.

I can understand Sins moving to impulse, it will allowing for constant micro-patching which is a good thing, and impulse does sounds like a good idea, but 1.1 is not a micro-patch and i do not have reliable internet at home.

Please, at least give us 1.1 as a separate download.

I'd rather the update stay only on Impulse. Don't want to make it easy for the pirates to get benefits that us paying customers have effectively provided. Besides it also means quicker patch testing which means patches come even sooner once they are done. :)

This doesn't really make sense. Regardless of how the update is provided (from a FTP server or Impulse) you'd be having troubles either way. :P

yes it does make sense, perfect sense.

i have 100Mb/sec at work, and limited bandwidth at home with expensive charges at home for exceeding this.

on top of this, when i come back to play the game in a few years using my favourite mods i want to be able to select the patch the mod was made to work under.

give me a separate 1.1 patch please.

You could use then the download and arcgive feature of impulse.

You should be able to create archive of the current version with impulse. You should try the restore process to check if it works correctly

Depends on how permissions are set up. School / Library computers around here are more than willing to let me download a file to my thumbdrive, but installing a program = no no.

You'd simply right click on the game in Impulse, and choose download archive. It will then just get the package and save it to disk without installing it; you can then copy said package to your home machine by whatever means, and restore it with Impulse there.

Yarlen, I went on impulse to download v1.1 beta, but I can't find it. Where is it and how many people are currently signed up for the beta (I don't want to wait 2 hours for enough people to show up for a game). Thanks

Last I heard, it wasn't coming out til mid-July.

None, because it hasn't started yet :P

I thought they meant the real v1.1 was coming in mid-July. If the beta isn't coming out till then, then real v1.1 won't be out till August at least.

Do i need Impulse on my home computer too, right?

Thanks, Gerry

Yes, you'll want to get the full install of impulse from the about page on impulsedriven.com so you can install it on the offline machine (the default is a web installer).

Hello everyone,

I just purchased the game from www.proxis.be seeing it was finally available in Belgium.

Being someone who preferes to buy a boxed copy of the game, I was wondering whether I'd be able to get the final patch ones it comes out without any trouble ?

Also, will the add-on(s) be sold in stores aswell, or solely threw Impulse ?
