Extreme Colonization Question

Hi, I've played Dread Lords for quite some time now, and just recently got the Dark Avatar expansion. I've run into a bit of a problem though during my second DA game:

It's relatively early in the game, and I've got about 10 planets under my control. 3 of them are aquatic and one is radioactive. However, I have fully researched both fields, so the planets are green and work at full capacity. The problem is, the radioactive planet had a lot of open spaces, and a lot more opened up after Soil Improvement, so I decided to make it a ship manufacturing planet. But now that all my manufacturing centers and power plant are built, I want to build a starport on the planet, but the game doesn't even have it available. I can build starports on all my other planets, including the aquatic ones, so am I missing something about Radioactive Planets? Or is this a game bug?

EDIT: I might be an idiot, haha.  Alright, I tested a theory on one of my finished games.  Turns out if you build a starport, then upgrade it to something else, you can no longer build a starport on that planet.  Very lame indeed.  That seems to have been the problem on my Radioactive world in my current game: I acquired it through influence, then paved over the computer-built starport before I could figure out what to do with the planet.  Not great foresight on my part, but a pretty unfortunate bug on the game's part.  Is there any way to circumvent this bug or should I start building research labs on top of my factories?

Thanks for any help.

I know in some cases its possible be unable to build a quantum power plant because you built over it, or it was destroyed in planet invasion. This is the first I heard of it occuring with a starport... no wait, maybe that was a problem a while back in DL. I think it was supposed to have been fixed in DA betas or in a DA patch. Try to see that you have the latest patch.

An alternative (but not likely) is that you are looking at the wrong tab (starports, among other things, do not show up in the old tab).

If the problem continues to persists, try to figure out how reproduce the problem (ideally from one of your save files). From there, send the devs an e-mail (link provided below). Include detailed instructions to reproduce the problem, a save file, and the debug.err (found here: C:\Documents and Settings\ *user name* \My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar). If you are unable to get a save file to reproduce the problem from, then send any save file that will load the planet that can't build a starport (so they atleast have the data for look at).

Hey, thanks a bunch. Apparently it was fixed in a DA patch, because I updated from 1.5 to 1.8 and the problem has gone away. Unfortunately, in my current save, I still can't seem to put a starport on that radioactive planet, since I wiped out the starport before upgrading my game. However, the problem doesn't happen anymore if I wipe the starport off other planets and then rebuild them.

Thanks a lot!

It would take some extra programing to fix existing saves. Forturnately, you don't have to worry about said problems after that game.

Thanks a lot!

No problem!
