So hows the new banner for the Domination of Death coming. If you can please make me look like the military badass I am.  

As far as I am aware, CariElf has not commented on ARC, nor has any other Stardock rep.

If someone has, though, please let me know where. I'm curious to know when/if this will be fixed.

Ok guys, i have reset all the permissions for the team threads over on the ToE forums. For those that have not yet registered there yet here is the link, ToE Forums and i will give you the required permissions as soon as your active.

Lord Arkham, once your set up there mate you'll get access to our team private thread and then we can all start brainstorming the demise of the other teams, won't be to hard to do.....

Is this just for your team Neilo, or should all teams stop using The Core forums and switch to the Tiranny of Evil forums?

It depends on the preference of your captain. Some teams (A and E I know of) have switched to using the ToE forums, while I believe a couple may still be using the Core. If your unsure, just PM your Captain to find out.

Like DA said it's on a team by team basis. I think Team C has been pretty much exclusive at the Core and A and E have become exclusive at ToE. B and D I'm not totally sure about although I think that team B was using both last I saw.

One point is that I don't think this should totally be just up to the captain, certainly the team members should have some say in this as well.

In the old team A's case it was really just a matter of where you most often hung out, although to be frank in my own case there was some politics (i.e. annoyance with political threads at the Core and the right wing agenda that seemed to be the only opinion tolerated) behind the decision as well.

Team D is currently using the Core.



Most definitely...I polled my team members to see what the overall preference was.

Sorry Gen. Etrius, I haven't updated our uber-banner for Team D, yet. I don't touch a computer over the weekends, thats strictly family time, so I don't see any posts until Monday morning. But rest assured! It will updated soon and I will astound the other teams to such a degree that it borders on total submission even before the next round begins!

KP: I am somehow now locked out of the Core. I had no problems earlier yesterday, when I checked in on our team forum. When I tried to post a second message, it told me I didn't have permission (it shows I've posted twice, so I assume the message made it before my account blew up). I can't even view the public forums when logged in. If I log out I can see the public ones as a guest. I've PM'ed Mumblefratz on this forum and I sent an email to the webmaster on the Core. Until it's fixed, any team communication will have to be PM'ed to me here.  :SNIFF!:   

Ragnar, I will keep you up to date until it is fixed, and I will also contact the admins at the Core. Havent had any issues there before, so I'm not sure what the problem is. We'll get it fixed.

The issue was that Rangar was changed to the Spammers group. Not exactly sure why that happened in this case but this is usually an automatic response by forum software to what it assumes to be spamming activity.

I've posted a request in the Admin area to put Ragnar back into the normal Members group which should fix the problem. I expect that DaMoose will take care of this early tomorrow morning at the latest.

I've also asked if anyone can tell us why this occured but that might not be possible. This can be caused by some pretty innocuous things so don't take it personally.

I think what caused it was bad quote formatting on his last post in the current round thread. It looked really strange and caused an error flag to be attached to the thread. I deleted his post, and the error flag disapeared, but he still couldnt login. I talked with Technician but he didnt appear to notice the assigment to the spammers group. Personally, I didnt even know it existed.

I remember a few months back, bad quote-formatting from myself caused my Kzinti Empire thread here to crash. I think you remember that too.

It may have been the cut and paste. I think I was quoting a message that wasn't the last one, and I used ctrl-c and ctrl-v. I didn't see a 'quote' button like on this forum. Plus I used the dancing devil emoticon and was behind my work firewall. Like a binary chemical weapon all came together at the wrong place and time.  :LOL: 

Now I can change my Core mood from Angry to Drunk. Not that anyone could see the angry mood while I was disguised as a spammer.

It did have something to do with posting a URL. You have to make 3 posts without posting a URL before you include one in a post and I believe this includes your signature as well.

If you think about it, it does make sense.

Actually Tech had mentioned this before and I vaguely remembered but obviously forgot about the 3 URL free post requirement.

Also the funny post that KP had mentioned is that as a spammer the post is entered but only Moderators and above see it. It's highlighted in a funky way to indicate that it needs to be approved before it becomes visible to everyone. I believe that if KP had realized this he should have been able to approve the post and that by itself *might* (I'm not sure of this) have been enough to change Ragnar back to a Member.

Like I said I'm not sure about this but it would be worth checking out if and when this ever happens to anyone else. That is of course if you happen to remember this conversation in however many months from now that the issue comes up again.
