ObjectDock Weather Docklet not working anymore

ObjectDock Weather Docklet not working anymore

Hi all.

I had OD running for over one and a half years now and the weather docklet always worked. Since Thursday or Friday it only displays "Weather Information not Available". Is there somenthing wrong with weather.com?

I tried DRJHBL's way, but no go.. weather docklet on this PC still saying still N/A though Accuweather's feed works fine on DX weather widgets. No weather prob. on my other PC's Objectdock & both PC's use identical setups... wierd.

It happend to me again but this time i deleted the file stardockweather.ocx .

Closed OD.

Then  restored the file back from recycle bin.

Restarted OD. weather came back. yay:thumbsup:

that was awesome!  thanks for the fix.  I also found it helps to type in the town and state, rather than the zipcode

I aint got Object dock, just rightclick and desktopX and my weather widgets wont work at all. typed in where i am and nothing, says wrong zip. crazy :( plus... dont matter what place you type in.. its not accepting it. Worked fine before too.

desktopX and my weather widgets wont work at all.
All weather widgets that used Weather dot coms feed will no longer work. See THIS thread. There are some new ones in the gallery that comply with the new terms of use.

As a note, the stardockweather.ocx will NOT fix the gadgets using weather.com.

Hi all,

I have been using Weather docklet for a long time but It just stopped working yesterday. Is there an issue about it or it just happened in my computer?

Thank you.

hasan_hzl Please follow my intructions in reply #37. Click the link to download the weather ocx file, then place it where instructed. When it asks if you want to replace the existing one select "yes" then restart OD.That should fix you up.

Wizard1956,

I tried it (sizes of the files were exactly the same) but it still says me that "feed not available" :'( It was workig till yesterday. I did not understand what happened.

what feed are you trying to get?

I am not expert on ObjectDock so my answere may be irrelevant. I just want to know weather in Ankara, Turkey as in the following picture. I also tried different cities and countries but it still is not working.

I tried your location and got "feed not available" as well. It works fine for other locations however. Since you say it worked before and replacing the ocx file didn't repair it,(and you are sure you replaced the ocx file correctly) I would guess it is an Accuweather glitch. The best fix in this case may just be a little patience. Hang in there,it should fix itself in a day or two.

Thank you for your effort. I think a little patience will solve my problem. However, I also tried Berlin, germay and same error. Anyway, I have to wait:)

hasan_hzl: Try a zip code and see if it works.  I would suggest 48170, which is our home town of Plymouth, MI

I'm using it just fine in Ireland. I just reconfigured it for Ankara, Turkey and its working ok. They're having thunderstorms today.

hasan_hzl: check to make sure you have exclusions set for ObjectDock in any security apps you have installed.  They may be preventing the Accuweather feed from coming through.

I re-installed the objectdock. Now it shows all weather informations ("48104", "48170", "Istanbul, Turkey") but interestingly not "Ankara, Turkey".

Also, I have cFosSpeed and JDownloader installed. When I open JDownloader and start to download at nearly full speed, weather docklet stops working for all locations. When close it, docklet starts to work for all locations except Ankara, Turkey. I think cFosSpeed blocks the objectdock eventhough I set the objectdock as fully accesable to the internet via the program.

Been using ObjD's default weather docklet for hmmm a couple months on Vista, and a couple weeks on Win7. In both instances, when I first use the docklet it works great. Then later that day or the next day, it can't find its feed and displays N/A instead, turning a cool good-looking gadget into ugly crapola. I hope it gets fixed, because it's cool whether I really use it or not. Otherwise, it will get deleted and tried from time to time. Always works for awhile, then poops out. Occasionally, like today, it will spontaneously work again, smiling sunshine all over...then goes belly up to N/A again a few minutes later.

BTW...re whoever posted about the days...it is supposed to show Wed-Sun when it's Tue...because Tue is showing in the main today's data area, not in the forecast. Forecast is for 5 future days (6 total).

It's the one that draws from weather.com

And go me, I tried updating to the newest version, and it works fine. Why I didn't think of this before, I have no idea.

kratonator, have you tried just installing a new version?
