Late Game Anti-Advent Strategies??

This crap happens in every MP game Im sorry to hear this, if what you say is true well I would rather see balance in every faction. Problem is you have true veterans who think in the context of the game as a whole and others who are simply outclassed by a better player, cant handle it and say that their advesaries ships are overpowered. I dont know yet since I havent played enough MP but at least I realise Im a newbie and dont have the skill to be saying a thing needs nerfed , problem is you will have okay players that think they are vets and theres potential for ruining the game.

Im not wanting any hassle but I dont want to finally get into MP and everything be ripped to shreds, whats the point if things get nerfed so much that strtegies are limited, please please dont do this to the game , make every faction have great power but in differant ways , make each strong as hell in their own way rather than watering things down thus in some cases making 1 or 2 factions overpowered. Any dev looking at nerfs based on whats getting said on the forums should be calling into question the experiance levels of the people recommending them. Yes I am inexperianced with sins but I see the same trend in every online game. Differance is I can accept it and give credit when a player is just better than me. (Realise sometimes there is cases for nerfs but many times they are brought about through whining every which way)

Please dont take this as a flame I LOVE! the game, and dont want to see it ruined please be careful!

You just aren't very good at the game if you can't beat advent in 1v1. They are THE EASIEST to beat in a 1v1.

In all seriousness, rush, get hashikos, have a kol, you will beat advent in a small 1v1.

Commander whats the best TEC ships to take out the disciple ships of advent? Please forgive if Im mis-interpretting some of the abbreviations its just what does kol stand for? See this used alot in some of the guides and I will be better of when I get accustomed to the abbreviations .......see I told you me = total newbie :))

Kol battleship,I think its the best capital ship in the TEC fleet. Also if you keep a balanced fleet with frigates,cruisers,squadrons,and 1 or 2 capital ships that support each other(ie a kol battleship with a dunov battlecruiser) you can pretty much beat any fleet.

this post is pointless advent are not imba >.> just learn how to play vs advent players like i dunno keep the pressure on 24/7 >.> advent do not have super econmy like tec and they do not get free ships like vasari all are stuff is expensive jesus you wonder why are lrms beat yours perhaps cus we have to get lvl 3 tech to get them? i get beaten by good tec players all the time but i guess your arent a good player so go back learn how to play your race rather than spamming javils and calling your self good at the game :o

No "race" is overpowered.

Certain abilities are broken or unbalanced. If you asked me though, TEC are the most balanced race (but also the weakest in game since they don't have super overpowered crap).

Its not the Advents fault that Dark Cloud is too weak to survive in a one on one game.

Seriously, quit making huge proclamations based on your own play ability.

Advent is not overpowered at all in fact, it depends on how you play and how your opponent plays. I have played multiple games as and against advent and you are complaining before taking the time to to learn the games and question your own play style.

Find me, take advent and I will kick your butt with TEC

Never been a spammer always been fond of a balance depending on what the enemy is doing.

Its not the Advent or the players fault you were too weak to survive against the Unity.

Truly advent has a slow start to get to that lvl 3 tech. ecspecially if they want 2 Cap ships.

You are tec, if the map is small go military, go to THEM smash their research labs. Or hit them when they have 1 illum out the gate. Use a marza or Kol and LRMS and you will smash their mothership.

IF the map is medium or big. I know I can get an akkan and boom my economy. Expand fast and build frig factories near all important planets. Then research trade ports and build one at each planet. Your credits will skyrocket. DO NOT UPGRADE FLEET SIZE UNLESS YOU SCOUT AGGRESSION FROM YOUR ADVENT OPPONENT. But if hes being a good little advent hes cranking military labs for his expensive illums.

One you have your initial tradelane down, here is where you balance building fleet with building... MORE TRADE PORTS. Each one will pay for itself but you have to be aware of your opponent. Keep your fleet forward, if you run into a stronger fleet, bound back, cancel any trade ports or research in construction, and start cranking out of your nearest frig factories, also whereever he is coming to build 2 repair bays. Once your fleet arrives it will be sitting in 2 repair bays, all the while all nearby frigate factories are pumping ships with your booming credits and it will be very hard for him to smash that defense with some illuminators. Also his reinforcments will take a long time if hes attacking you.

If he doesn't attack spam logisitics reasearch and trade ports while keeping a healthyl number of frig factories. If your scouting shows you are still safe, make three more military labs(you should have 2) and build kodiaks and hoshikos. Kodiaks will crush illums and your economy should be booming hard.

Your all falling to see what he truly said. And what you guys said about keeping the pressure on advent early game and that you can win that way is true, I do it so does Dark Cloud. However your can take on every advent player early game. A few days ago in a FFA i was crushing one advent, was feeding credits to and other TEC player so he could crush the advent next to him. However the 3rd advent player across the system was wining over his enemies and in late game even thought i controlled nearly half the system, had a fleet 3 times bigger then his it all didn't matter. And that is the problem.

Basically advent week early game overpowered late.

i hope tec ends up kicking advent butt when an expansion with a campaign finally comes out. ah, sweet revenge...

I would be very surprised if there is an overpowered faction. SoaSE was delayed SIX MONTHS to work on it, since the developers thought that they needed it.
Also, each faction has its own advantage. TEC has economy, Vasari has phase (including phase missiles hehe), and the Advent has culture. if used correctly, culture should make up for the weak T1 and T2 ships and the wait for T3 to make the LRM frigate. The TEC player should invest in trade ports and refineries. If one hasn't unlocked trade ports and refineries by the late game;
a) you deserve to lose
and
b) you aren't using the full potential of the TEC, PLAY AS ANOTHER FACTION!
Once you have built a large number of money-earning structures, take a couple random planets and build novaliths. That is the other benefit of the TEC. Seriously. Trade ports, refineries, novalith(s), and you should be fine.
If that doesn't help, play solo against a hard or unfair AI, make a save somewhere in, and experiment.

rafi, you obviously have not played a good Advent player using TEC recently. I'd really like to see you try to win against guardians with repulsion and the malice + cleansing brilliance combo. Sure, early game TEC is good, but it doesn't compare to the way Advent can own during the latter stages of the game.

Great, TEC has an awesome economy! Awesome! Now to build a huge fleet, that just gets demolished by a handful of guardians and illuminators! That's really balanced! I honestly hope I'm missing an effective TEC counter to repulsion, but right now, every time I bring my a fleet comprised of lrms, kodiaks, and carriers, I always get held back by guardians while illuminators tear my ships to shreds.

It would help if you could temporarily disable repulsion by destroying military stations, but that's too much to hope for I guess.
