For those of you who would like to try out Impulse, check out the link below.  Note that the precise version numbers won't match up between Stardock Central and Impulse since they have different backends.

There's a LOT more being added to it but you should find it pretty reliable at updating things.

a big improvement over SDC,imo.


For the most part, I heartily agreed...I'm not super sold on the updates, however. I uninstalled the Beta of TA several times, but it kept reinstalling the same. I eventually had to just go get the release version through SDC.

Also, my issue I posted above required a fresh install of Windows in order to get it to work...but, over all, I think it looks slicker, and once the release version is out, it will hopefully work better [than SDC] as well.

SDC works perfectly fine under any circumstance - whether I am behind a firewall or not. Why do developers keep insisting on reinventing the wheel?

We have made Impulse much more secure than SDC.   This is in response to requirements from our software vendors that we distribute their intellectual property (software) in the most secure fashion possible.

We are not reinventing the wheel, we are responding to market demands.
