what is chasing the vasari

ok now you all have probably heard this question before and many are trying to answer it. WHAT IS CHASING THE VASARI!!!!!!! if you ask me the only thing that could have done this much damage is if sum one sent a brodcast of the teletubbies ,barney, dora the explorer, and elmo all doing one whacked out christmas speicial

but really what is chasing them if you ask me  this should be in the lore section unless they are waiting to unveil it to either make an expansion or maybe a capmeighn patch where you have to fight  whatever is chasing the vasari and take back your homeworld or something

probably some sort of supervirus nano-thingy that just makes them go completely insane and draw and quarter themselves with pink space ponys

An alien, infected, hiegenically altered and twice-used tampon. That's whats chasing the vasari.

I heard reports that Blair's momma was chasing the Vasari, but these have yet to be confirmed.

Cthulu. They stole his sacrifices by imprisoning his followers, and now he crusades against them in a space helmet amidst cries of "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"

Intelligent/AI nanotech lifeform, or a really pissed off slave race that managed to find a weakness in there science, or psychology.

I like to think that it's the Vasari themselves, with some sort of time anomaly bringing them from the past, and taking over territory that they think it's alien, only to conquer their future selves.

They might even try to go back to the past to fix this and conquer what's conquering them to reclaim their planets, only to start the cycle again.

So it's Vasari from the past or the future after all. :p

Thats why they are so ugly. Everyone is his own grandgrandparent-->incest-->mutants-->Michael Jackson

it must be something about genetic mutation, like the vasari wanted to create a race of "super vasari" slaves as soldiers and workers and stuff and gave them experimental super weapons, techs and ships for the job. after a while the "super vasari" realised they were being exploited and could beat the crap out of the vasari if they worked together and decided they wanted to make sure they were all exterminated and their empire destroyed and forgotten ... anyone got a better idea ?

So okay, it's not the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

But I was under the impression that the force pursuing the Vasari was rather mysterious. If it was a nanite swarm or super Vasari wouldn't someone speak up, like, "Uh, fellas, I have an idea what is on our tails. Remember that weapon X experiment we tried out and went haywire? Yeah, I bet that's it."

I'm not ruling it out but I'm also not ready to jump on the bandwagon. I've read some good ideas but nothing that really seems like a sure winner (although Cthulu and Cylons made me laugh pretty hard).

And still nobody even considers that it may be the long-lost Scottish Armada. You poor, sheltered folks.

In the gmae manual it said that a lone, heavily damaged, ship came back from the Dark Armada and that the crew were driven to insanity, the only thing I can think of is something like the Zerg from Starcraft, a genetic experiment gone wrong.

I agree with the nanobot theory. If you look at the backstory the Vasari Empire fell quickley from within. Also, ingame the Vasari use Nanobots but seemingly on a limited basis ( they still use slave labor) this could suggest they learned their lesson and don't trust nanobots that much.
