Ok so I am just throwing this idea out there because I am a Halo fanatic and I think that this game could easily incorporate the Halo universe into it. I am not a very good designer but I can provide support and more ideas. There are already two races that could easily be changed into the Humans and the Covenant( TEC and Advent). All we would have to do would be to change ships some and add  gauss guns to most TEC Cap ships. I know this might take a long time but if it means that we will finally have a Halo space combat game then it will be well worth it.

Who cares what the other idiots say. I've found that generally the people that hate MS are the people who think MS knocked their mommy up and 9 months later they popped out and have no daddy. IT'S OUT TO GET YOU!!! IT'S TAKING OVER THE WORLD!!!! oh wait, thats oil companies...Anyway, hope to see this mod completed, will give it a try, just like I will give all other IP and original mods a try. Variety is the spice of life...unless your a communist...or having daddy issues.

Halogen was a good mod but.

i think halo: first offensive is good too. i could ask them to port to SOSE cuz they said ill be on their team once i model animate and skin the jackal. can ne1 help me with this?

Fraekk, as I said earlier you can't port EAW models to SOASE, they're too differant and it would take too much work. Not to mention the models would have to be re-textured and in some cases re-modeled. It's a good sentiment but it's just not gonna happen, you'd be better off trying to get that homeworld mod to port it's models, since HW2 models port easily to SOASE.

Well Bungi has not released a modle or anny concepts for a battle ship, also whats wrong with a few types of capital ships? the more the marrier but thats just me. Since we have modles for bolth Frigates, Destroyers and Marathons we dont need fanon, but other wise they have my full permision to use the moddle.
however it is in sketchup format so i dont know how you would get it in there im sure there is a converting program or something  :NOTSURE:

As far as I know, the only fanon in the mod will be ships (As there aren't enough canon ships) and some gameplay tweaks.

Well frigs are easy to fill and we have a few cap ships but I'm dying for some cruisers. I was just gonna do the "beefed up" frigate for heavy cruiser but this works good because it shows the beginnings of a cap ship but still captures that lighter look

I would love it if you could try to be as Canon as possible but we won't have all the neccessary ships without it. All the Halo mods are doing it. Plus it lets us use our creative juices.

Well, why do you need more types of ships. Perhaps there aren't any more, maybe it isn't the lack of information. The UNSC suffers in space combat for a reason, and are at a SERIOUS disadvantage in almost every advantage. Why not make them unique from the Covenant and not give them both analog ships of each other. The Covenant could have many more types of ships (or whatever canon says) which are more powerful, but cost a lot, and the UNSC could have less types which are cheaper, or whatever. The UNSC started winning battles because of creative and open-minded (and daring) warfare. Their technology, numbers, and money all were MUCH worse. But, as the Covenant were very narrow-minded, they tended to fight by-the-book (remember the whole Cortana controlling a Covenant ship and using Forerunner technology in a more efficient and creative way, but getting criticized by the Covenant AI for doing so?). UNSC is willing to try anything and do anything to win - the Covenant do not leave their shells of no-creativity and innovation.

That's just my take on it - make the UNSC have better crews and more capabilities, perhaps "last stand" type things, but make the Covenant have a serious advantage in more types of ships, more firepower and armament, and more money. I don't ever understand the obsession over balance and analogs between factions - balance isn't realistic, nor is it the most fun - someone is always the underdog, and winning as the underdog shows true skill (loosing as the "overdog" shows poor skill, LOL).

But, as I stated before, this isn't my mod. I just thought to throw out some constructive criticism - I feel I have the right to because of a big history of modding/mapping, where I was always constructively criticized or given ideas (or just bashed).

The Oblvion Class Battle Ship is structured around the succses of the Marathon Curisers. She is 1400 meeters long about the size of a marathon but pacs a larger punch. Standard arment inculdes three 30'dim MACs, 1 50' Sub Super MAC. carring 7 rounds for each 30' and 4 for the 50'. It holds 1 LS fighter squad, 6 Pelicans, 8 scorps, 20 warthogs and 550 mariens. 6 Shivia nukes. 13 "CRASNEASB"s. Archer missles out the Wazoo (real number coming soon). Point Defenses are placed at strategic locations over the ships entire hull (not shown) She had 3 reactors, 2 main for the MACs and Engins and then one smaller one for the SubSMAC

The "CRASNEASP" AKA "Triguns" or "Hellcannons", Can Rotate 180 deg horizantaly, and Verticaly 80 deg. Giving them a wide arc of fire, the main draw back is that they are indeed Dumb weapons becaues once the Slug has left the barrle it can no longer stear itself. their semi Nukluar nature gives the shels a big impact and wide radus so when they hit something or their porximaty fuse detonates they have a big kill area makeing them extreemly efective against unshelded ships, tight groups of fighters, and Orbital targets. even with their fast fireing rate "1 slug every 2.56 seconds, 23 slugs a min" they are not vary effective against covenant shields alone and require the assistance of a mac round, but combined with archers missiles against bare hull they are devistating.

On another note,
I still haven't decided about whether to use fanon ships. On one hand, it would add much needed diversity but on the other I really am gonna strive to be as Canon as possible.

Using fanon ships doesn't detract from canon. Half of the ships in the Halo universe have no pictures, so you'll have to make them up as you see fit anyways. Just stick to the overall canon, Covies are strong, humans are weak, shit like that. What the ships look like or how many there are doesn't really affect the overall feel, as long as they look like they fit in.
