Are you a Nazi if you support Bush?

A Bush supporter had his front lawn vadalized by people who stole his "Bush-Cheney" signs and burned an 8 foot x 8 foot swastika into the man's front lawn.

I guess only supporters of John Kerry are allowed to have signs in their front yard. Bush supporters seem to be getting their lawns vadalized...but then again, who cares about laws, rules and the truth when it comes to getting your candidate elected.

Just let me catch someone on MY lawn, taking out my signs and messing up my yard! The cops won't have to look far. The idiot will be on the ground at gunpoint waiting for them.

Remind me to not even think of setting foot on your lawn, I may be inside the blast radius when you go after those vandals.

Actually, the emotions on this election are running so high in some parts of the country I'm surprised that reports of shootings haven't occured. Bill Cafferty even did a montage of soldiers and asked "which ones are Democrats and which Republicans"?

I think if people want to tell the world whom they support by signs, banners, etc. that's great! Go to it, boys and girls!

Are *you* kidding? I won't have to fire a shot unless they're REAL idiots! Any idiot who keeps coming after hearing a 12ga pump shotgun slide being racked, deserves what he gets!

You never know with the idiots of today, hell they might think somebody is dispensing PEZ.
And yeah I am kidding, after all I don't think you are the one to shoot first ask questions later, I know you are very responsible with firearms like my brother (who hits me on the back of head when I screw up handling a firearm the wrong way).

Though defacing someone's private property is against the law(?), anybody know how much punishment is given to the perpetrators of the crime?

At least he *not* slapping you in the back of the head with the firearm in question! I *have* been known to do just that when the screw up was bad enough> Like pointing a *loaded* firearm at someone that you have no intention of shooting.

Just make sure that when you take the guy down it's not with a banned weapon.

Drmiler, I'm starting to like you...

This example of leftist thuggery is almost as bad as the Kerry-loving idiots taking a 4 year old girl's 'Bush/Cheny' sign out of her hands and ripping it up.

I know this country gets election fever, but things are going a little too far this year.

Are you kidding? If they kept coming I would have every intention of shooting, and forget racking the shell in for a warning, that's what rock salt loads are for.

Hate to tell you but the *ONLY* banned weapons in PA are fully automatic firearms which were actually banned in the USA since 1934.

Sorry but if I'M pointing a weapon at someone, it sure isn't to cause pain! If I shoot, I shoot to *kill* or NOT at all.

I use to live next door to a guy with fully automatic weapons (licensed), but he always talked about some people he knew that had five or six banned weapons. So make sure you leave the fully automatics in the basement. I don't want to here reports of a someone from PA going postal with the ATF because it started over some moron trying to steal your sign. (Maybe he is a fanatic Bush supporter and the local Republican office ran out of signs?)

Since we have to pay for the signs, let him buy his own.

No, there are many other banned configuations, federal and state. A lot of people are heavily fined and go to jail based on that kind of misconception. I suggest you research The National Firearms Act of 1934 and the numerous other additions thereafter.

Would be wise to educate yourself. It won't matter if you claim you didn't know the 15" barrel shotgun you kept in your closet was illegal.

I hate to tell you. First the barrel length your refering to is anything under 18" not 15. Which is why the shortest length you can buy in the store is 18.5". I AM educated on the federal firearms laws. As an FFL holder I damn sure better be. Automatic weapons and sawed-off shotguns under 18" are the ONLY banned firearms. Maybe you should go back and reread the law. Here let me help you: Link
To top this ALL off NONE are illegal IF you have the *correct* permits.

ALL of the federally banned semi-auto (assualt weapons) stuff is fine now. The ban ENDED on Sept 13th

Oh man that is unacceptable, from either side.

I don't like anyone putting signs of any kind on my lawn. I would remove the sign even if it's kerry support type.

well, like I said, or meant to have said, it's just for the first shot, as a warning. Besides, if you've ever seen a guy with a load of rock salt in him, you know he's not gonna come up swinging for a minute or two, much less before you've got your next (preferably buck shot) shell in.

First it was:

"Hate to tell you but the *ONLY* banned weapons in PA are fully automatic firearms"

Now it is:

"Automatic weapons and sawed-off shotguns under 18" are the ONLY banned firearms."

Next you'll admit that noise suppressed firearms are illegal. Rifles, also, have barrel and length requirements. The fact is there are *tons* of regulations that predate the Clinton era laws that expired. As an FFL holder I am sure you understand that. That's why your previous statements confused me.

btw: I didn't say 15" was the limit, I said you'd go to jail for having it. Try decaf...

There is no such thing as a noise suppressed firearm persay. Supressors are a *separate* item and not considered firearms by themselves. And again if you have the correct permits they aren't illegal either. And no rifles DO NOT have a barrel length requirement! When they get to a certain length they are no longer considered rifles. They become pistols! Once again check the link! Read and *learn*! I erroniously left shotguns out when I made my first statement. Do tell the truth I didn't even think of them.

No, I'm sorry, but you are wrong.

The legal length of a barrel on a rifle is minimum 16", the overall length is minimum 26". If you cut the barrel of a rifle down making the gun less than 26", it doesn't become a pistol, it becomes illegal. Contenders and other such firearms are "convertable" between one and the other, but it means replacing both the stock and the barrel.

There have been permanently suppressed firearms, and you, having an FFL, will understand what the word "affixed" means in terms of legality.

"And again if you have the correct permits they aren't illegal either."

With correct permits none of these weapons are illegal. What's your point?

No YOUR wrong I have in my posession a "Winchester" saddle carbine in 45LC that the barrel is 12.5" STOCK from the factory, no permit required! Show your evidence, I showed you mine.
And BTW Thompson Contenders don't have stock, they have a grip (as in pistol) and a fore end and you do not *always* have to change the fore end to change caliber. And just WHAT firearms have a permently attached supressor?

It's been my experience that liberals are far less tolerant of opposition views than conservatives.

While Republicans have to deal with the Christian right, very few of them are very militantly political in their views.

By contrast, the far left is a fairly sizeable chunk now of the Democratic base and like the militant christians of the right, they are so self-righteous that they have effectively managed to dehumanize those who oppose them.

Ask the people who burned a swastika into that man's lawn why they did it and they would probably say something snarky like "Why beat around the Bush? Anyone who supports Bush is a Nazi." And I suspect they would truly believe that.

I see people like that regularly in on-line political debate forums and by and large, the most militant political activists are almost exclusively left wing.

blah, Thomson sells stocks for Contenders, they also sell contenders with stocks and rifle barrels from the factory. I'm beginning to doubt all this FFL claim stuff of yours now.

Sorry about the off-topic. I think it is dangerous to misrepresent gun laws. People tend to go to jail when they are misinformed. My point was the statement about the only guns "banned" in PA being automatic is patently false.
