Very interesting to hear, and also pleasing. Yes, there are only 2 days left but if I can find the time it really shouldn't be much of a problem. I use either all-tech or all-factory stategies to get things going quickly. Because this is a tech-victory I will likely just run the all-tech and get things boosted fast that way.

Yes, I would like to hear from Silver, assuming that I am able to finish a game with the given regulations, before I officially submit a game. If I can get this to work out then I may have to post an AAR of my triumphant return to the MVL (lol). Partially so that I can figure out how I actually play, so that others can give me hints as to how I can improve, and also so that I can have a little fun giving my technocrats something interesting to read as they reinvent the hyperdrive.



I generally play without tech-trading too much, so this will be a good game either way. I like to give my opponents some chance to actually win, and usually they do because I expand too slowly and fall behind slightly in the tech-race.

Thank you for your support, and because I am a horrible insomniac I will be trying starting now to play this through.

I can't imagine that Silver could have any objection. In Ghostwes's case he did make an earlier comment actually apologizing for leaving him off the list, but he didn't actually make any comment when Ghostwes posted his game although at that time FB, KzintiPatriarch and I all mentioned acceptance of the submission (see replies #233 through #236 of this thread).

I more mentioned Silver's approval as a courtesy to the commissioner as well as the fact that it indeed is nice to have explicit commissioner approval when questions arise in the middle of a round.

However with that said I doubt that Silver would want you to not have submitted a game simply because he happened to miss your last post or was otherwise occupied (with schoolwork perhaps). In any case I suggest that you not hold off submitting based on a formality. All it costs to submit a game is another reply to a very long thread that will definitely get longer before the round is over. You should just submit the game without waiting for any additional approval and in the extreme unlikelihood that anyone has an issue we can sort it out when the round is scored.

BTW I had to look up the proper use of the apostrophe in the phase "Ghostwes's case". Interestingly enough the first place that I found a decent explanation was at the Purdue University Online Writing Lab. A fact that Silver would probably appreciate.

@Galen and Ghostwes: Team Rosters are really "round specific" and subject to change. This month's was actually based on one that Neilo had sent me and I had thought was accurate for known players playing this round. Tho...it does have Motti and TGE sitting out, so I spose I really shoulda have added you both on there.

Interestingly enough it works out with Ghostwes back for the Bladerunners and Galen for Domination cuz now all teams have 6 spots (though some are on hold)

also @Galen the round settings are much harder than first meet the eyes. If you can get a game in cool, but it won't be the end of the world if you don't.

Finally...end of the round is in two days

Yeah, I have started to see this. I still think that I will be able to get through this unscathed. I am about to fight my first war, probably with the Yor, creepy little machina >.< Something that I am not enjoying about this game is that Yor are using Mass Drivers while the Korath are using Missiles. And the Krynn are using Beam weapons, as am I. The Drengin...I haven't seen what weapons they are using yet.

The Yor, Drengin, and Korath are all Hostile against me...but each only have a military rating of around 150, and my first ship boosted my rating from 0 to 32...five or six of those should be able to take out my opponents, and then with Invasion technologies...hehe, those Yor shall die!!!

But yeah, to the difficulties, I am pretty much bankrupt and just now getting Banks up and running and I only have 3 planets...If I had more then this would go better...thus, the Yor's fate is sealed, lol.

I will either win quickly or lose quickly, depends on whether I start the war, or have my war started by the Yor, Korath, or the Drengin. Hopefully they do not begin this. I hope that the Drengin at least also have Mass Driver weapons like the Yor.

Okay, I am off to play now, I am hoping that I do win this game, and I win quickly lol. GO DOMININON!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I found the "easiest" way to win this one for me personally, was just to plan from the start on a military strategy; take out the AI (well most of it, but not all) and then build from there.

lol, update for things going so far. The Yor have almost completely fallen to me, but I think that they may have the Restaurant Because they only have their home planet and have a huge influence all around them!!! This is insanity (( no...THIS IS SPARTA!!!)) sorry, had to do that, love that movie

Well, the Korath...they are being mean and demanding monies from me... I allow this because it isn't above 100 BC so far They will die soon though, gonna go after them once those Yor are taken care of... If the Yor do have the Restaurant then I will be able to take control of it and use it for my purposes and get a little extra tourism revenues to supplement my horrid economy lol.

I have chosen to be a good guy this round, though I am the Alterans (spelling? I am away from my computer on someone elses right now lol) The defense boost is nice, I am enjoying it. And because I am doing the All-tech strategy I can get away with continuing to build ships even though my economy is almost in the tank. I keep bouncing between <-500BC and >-500BC, my technology is still high enough to keep me ahead of the competition by a lot even though it takes me 2-3x as long to research stuff as it normally would.

That Yor homeworld is probably just going to be converted into an Econ planet...and those other 2 Yor worlds will become econ as well Just need to get that stock exchange up and running now >.>

One thing that I have to say about Vista now, it is really annoying in that it will yell at you when it perceives that it's RAM is getting low and ask you to close the program(s) responsible. When GC2 is running in full screen it is annoying because it pops up and then I have to close GC2 hoping that it saved recently (will change my autosave to 3 turns on next reload)...

Oh well, enough with my rants, onward soon goes I to destroy the universe with my intellects lol

That's mighty nice of you particularly given how it negatively affects Team E's standing. But then he was only 3 minutes and 39 seconds late.

I also can't really add much to this given that this call makes a difference between how Team A and Team E finish the round relative to each other. Given that both our teams are affected here it probably should be left up to FireBender to make the call on this.

how are you getting that it negatively affects Team E? Its a 12yr game; you guys (A Team) were already getting the Score BP no matter what.

Yes if PlayJeff's 22K game counts then the A team wins and Team E is second. If PlayJeff's automatic submission counts by rule that would be his 5 year 13K game because it's the best score per year ratio. In that case Team A and Team E would tie for first.

Of course this is all based on my completly unofficial score tabulation which could also have errors so caveat emptor.

I do believe that if you made the call your natural tendency would to be magnanimous and that's not fair to Team E so FB making the call is probably the best all-round decision.

Also I want to preface that no one needs to feel bad regardless of how it turns out. We had a well fought and tough round. Everyone should be proud of their performances.
