And a very promising quote too:

"After finishing second in North American PC software sales twice in the weeks following its release earlier this month, Stardock's real-time strategy title Sins of a Solar Empire climbs up to take top honors in this week's sales results. Given its impressive sales performance in the face of competition from PC favorites like Call of Duty 4 and The Orange Box, Sins of a Solar Empire is likely to remain a strong chart force in future weeks."

now...in the wake of such awesome commercial successs, would u pleaze consider doing 2 things :

Finally... nice to see a non-Sims or BuckCraft title in 1st. Something that actually *deserves* to sell well...

Awesome, I'm glad you've done so well, Sins looks like such a great game. I haven't actually got it yet, because I have to wait for my pocket money :(, lol. But I'll be buying it as soon as I can...

Now that activision and blizzard are one, stardock is the only non-bigass corporation on that list.

Really cool, can someone from the Stardock team please give a date (Just an approximative date!) when you'd think the distributor for Europe (France if you can) should be secured??? I'm waiting this release in Europe like an idiot since I got an email from your team saying that you were working on securing one for Europe since two weeks. If it isn't at all coming to france or europe just please give the info then I'll buy it online because there's a lot of people waiting it here!

I know that not giving the info about not releasing it in Europe can be a threat for you on a marketing side....

Just tell me if I should wait for another week or buy it directly online...

Anyway I don't to be just a b**** like that but I'm searching this info everywhere and all i can get is approximations and prognostics or crap from some fan's reflections.

Thx and hoping to have a respond from you guys

Good news! I know a bunch of people who have contributed to that and will be contributing to it in the coming days. :) Is it true Sins has sold 1 million copies already?

Why *not* buy it on-line?  I can't think of a good reason not to.

Congratulations!
I hope our European distributors are biting their own posteriors for not having released Sins on the European market. ;)

:SURPRISED:  woa...In a little less than 3 weeks ?!!!  :NOTSURE:

i doubt it very much ... even though i intensely wish that it were so  :d

(i dont think that SD & IC company policy would allow them to reveal their sales ##)

yea ... on another thread, a SD representative said that the Euro distributors were initially not interested : they didnt believe that such a type of strategy game would sell well ...

they must be biting their own derrières, foh surrrrrre

I thought I had read that at IGN in their PC News section, but I can't find the story right now and the entries in my history either get 404 errors or go to GDC articles. :( There's normally a lot of confusion between units sold, shipped, and ordered so this is probably my mistake.

However, where I live Sins is selling like hotcakes. I have to go out to the stores every week since my lizards/agamids eat like a pigs, and sometimes I waste time walking around in other non-pet stores. Sins is almost always sold out or someone is looking at it when I go dream about big LCD HDTV's or see if there's an old game sitting around for a bargain. As a former 5 year big ticket electronics commission salesman, if you look like you're indecisive sometimes I will whisper things under my breath. If you have the skills, training, and experience like I do to look for the right signs (as in not pissing someone off) you'd be surprised how many people just need a little nudge in the right direction to strike up a random conversation and to do something like put down Empire at War Gold Edition and buy Sins, or put down UT3 and buy Crysis. If I'm meandering around Walmart in particular, the most common thing I see is someone looking at the requirements and wondering if it'll run on their PC. I actually run into a lot of old customers of mine this way too (how do they remember me 8 years later?).

I don't have Sins yet, but I hope to get it soon. I think I might wait till the demo comes out to decide, but after getting #1, I might get it sooner.

I just have a nasty habit of getting bored with RTS games and hardly playing them. I also play an MMO which costs 15 dollars a month, so I feel kinda guilty if I play something else. I'll probably get Sins soon though.

If they haven't sold a mil yet -- it's because there's not enuf copies in the retail market -- I hear Vancouver (Ironclad base town) is crying for copies -- any -- both editions ------...... THEY R HOT ........ way to go Ironclad/Stardock

Even beat the Sims! Bravo, Stardock!

Could you add The Sims as a new invading force of aliens in the expansion?
Low sys requirement is a very good decidion sd/ic made.
Keep it up with the updates and expansions. A good forum layout is also important.
