After the success on the Troll Thumping Day Suite some members of the Mother Thumpers are coming together to create the "Happy Birthday Suit(e)".

I envision this suite centered around a DX gadget that counts down to your birthday. On your birthday the gadget will prompt you to download the most recent incarnation of the suite components so for your special day, your desktop will celebrate with you.

At this point we have some components assigned to artists but this is a collaborative project and welcome input and assistance from everyone. Please jump in and help out if you'd like.

Like the updates! Maybe the back could be the same as the dream? I don't do dreams or screensavers so I wouldn't know if that's possible. But just a suggestion. Keep going!

I don't know much about .dreams, either.  I'm still on XP, so I haven't even examined what dreams do or how to create them, but I think you're right...I should probably get the Wallpaper from the dream and Vista Logon to keep the continuity of things going.  Thanks for the input...I'll work on that when I get off of work in another oh....9 hours, and will post the results when finished (this project has me burning some crazy early morning hours--I have no idea why creativity decreases my need for sleep so much).

By Jove, I think I've got it!

I used the wallpaper that was used for the dream and the Vista Logon, I tweaked the music a little to get rid of a nasty buzz in the birthday song that is being sung by the group of people, and I added a nice little shred guitar version, too.

I think it's done.  I'm going to submit it like this, because I'm afraid that if I play with it anymore, it's going to get too busy and bloated.  I wanted to keep it kind of simple and clean.

 

OH, and yes, 2of3, those are your balloons, and I thank you for creating them.

Just applied it to my PC, looks great & sounds great too! I think it's about done! ZubaZ, you're gonna need to update that list again... And I also think that the countdown gadget is about finished too! Great jobs everybody!

THANKS so much for the animation, its cool.

It works great for me, except for one small thing. When I close it, I get a dialog box asking if I want to run it. Awesome job!

I tested it, and it works like a charm. k6  I kinda liked the other music better, but if it's not royalty-free, whacha gonna do? (Not to mention, I have weird taste in music, so my opinion on the matter doesn't carry much weight).
