Volco

No Australia vs World?

No Australia vs World?

wtf

Ok first off this is a awsome game dont get me wrong!

But just because I live in australia dose not give you the right to not let me play online
with others around the world.

I cant get into any games online besides AU/NZ hosted games. I think this is so bloody stupid that because I am Ocianic I can only play on severs hosted by AU and NZ.

Well said! Apologies, then, for the post start I just did :P

This is just plain strange, throughout the beta I was able to play europe, US and asia - so I don't know what's going on.

I'm sure IC will have a solution - remember its only the first day - so things might still be bumpy for a while longer.

All I have to say right now is I love this game but hate it too. Why do they limit people from playing over the internet, I dont know, I really dont care, there is no need to do such a stupid bloody thing in a game. I mean, at least have a ping cap if your afrade of lagging a sever, like (Only people with a ping of 150 or under can join) if you dont have that sorta ping, the host rejects you. Not this stupid bullshit about (Your from another part of the world let me just barr you right here and now).

I feel ripped off hard! This is the main reason why I got the bloody game, for the MP!

PS Sorry for the bad language every now and then, its just really frustrating, and I do understand that its the first day or so, but they said they ironed out all/most of the bugs in the MPBeta, so this cant really be a bug since all the AU NZ players are getting the same sorta thing. and since SINS dosent have a big name down here, its not like there are lots of AU NZ players.

So it feels like we are limited!

In the beta, apparently Aus players could go anywhere, so it's clearly an introduced thing, though I don't think they intended to do this to Australians. Remember that Europeans also won't be able to join US games, and when IC fixes the Europe problem, the Aus problem will be automatically (since it's a bit closer... isn't it?) fixed. I'm sure they didn't actually mean to lock us out.

Sorry, but I don't understand; what is the significance of that? Surely it comes to the same thing?

I do sympathise, but really - I hate playing against gamers from half way around the world with terrible pings. It's not their fault, at all, but it really can muck up a great game.

Not sure what the solution is. Perhaps if they are going to have these kind of restrictions then we really do need the option to "allow all" in MP.

Blame Howard and his lack of attention to this country's broad band problem..........Rudd will fix it!

Myself and 200 other people got the sack because Rudd is now in, quite a few companies are preping for mass sackings.

One word: Unions.

But really, doesn't this discussion belong somewhere else? And Danosh has stated that he made his remark in jest, so I think those of us who believe Howard is blamed unfairly for a lot of things (I mean, regardless of the interest rates situation; I just don't know enough, it seems :P ) can back down a little.

Wait a minute guys. Ironclad Online doesn't limit anyone from joining a Sins multiplayer game based on geography - everyone from anywhere around the world can join. I don't know where this rumor started but its completely untrue. The players in those games are either booting you out (and they even boot me out sometimes) or you are seeing a case of a known ICO bug where games in progress or old games are left in the list when they don't actually exist (thus you can't actually join them and a "rejected by host" message comes up). This is affecting everyone to some extent, not just international players. It'll be fixed really shortly.

Thanks for your understanding,

-Blair

I can't stand stupidity to be honest it is easy to blame Howard and the Liberals for policies that were beneficial. Rudd is following suit of Keating, Hawkes, and Whitlam and the general populace should be disenfranchised.

Back to the actual topic have people actually port forwarded the correct ports which I think is 6112 if you have the problem isn't at your end it would be at the host's end unless you make the lobby and get kicked.

There you go. It seems Australians have an isolationist complex that insists that they're undergoing special circumstances; no offence meant to Volco or others at all :) Besides, I am one...

This is the silliest bug report I've ever seen.

god i hope u r right buddy.

I assure you I am. I just talked to the guy who programmed ICO, he sits a few desks down from me :)

Look, mate, I don't think it's all that good an idea to start an argument about "who's right", or even to say that you *hope* they're right with a dev. You'll just lose.
So to be entirely honest, I think case closed. Devs came through again - even assurances can quell a rebellion :P

whos arguing? anyways i cant connect to games still. i opened ports 6112 upd/tcp and still nothing. wth

judging by my experience with other games ie COH, sup com and other if you have ports open it is usually the host's problem or someone in the host's game can't configure a router properly. I had similar problems with COH for a while.
oh trust me ive played coh multiplayer and managed to open all the ports required to join games. is 6112 the only port to open for sins though?

You're forgetting to read the whole post again. Look carefully:
or even to say that you *hope* they're right with a dev.

No offence meant, but this is the second time you didn't read the posts as well as you could've to avoid confusion.

Otherwise I'm afraid I can't help you with the ports :P I'm kind of useless, eh? Have you tried entering a whole lot of games, or just the one? The former option might tell with whom the problem lies.

I've been playing all day with people from the US/canada and im from sydney (optus adsl2 if anyone wants to know).

the issues of not joining games and the like occurs a lot for other reasons (ICO bug or hosts with router issues).

keep plugging away guys you can connect to some games

also when i host i get a 'ICO yadda yadda detects most poeple gonna have trouble connecting to you' message

except port 6112 has been like, permenantly open since dawn of war and beyond.

aus games in 'ticular work fine seems theres not a lot of games going atm tho.

glad to hear beta aussies had no problems so that restores faith. peace guys.
