Keep in mind that Col wants to provide free health care, not only for poor children, but for children of middle income people, adults, and at one point illegal immigrants since Col was upset that the first bill was vetoed as well. What's worse is that Col depends on smokers to pay the bill. In other words kill one generation to save another. And he calls Bush evil for killing our soldiers.

Your God makes Allah look like a champion of good Col. You have no compassion, no belief that people can change, you don't even believe your God can change Bush. What ever God you worship seems to be a useless one, especially if he listens to you when it comes to the Democrats. But then that makes it even more interesting. You claim to be fighting for the American people when you "expose" the truth about Bush but in reality you don't even trust in the average Americans judgment that you feel the need to call upon your God to win the elections for you cause the average American is just too stupid to make the decision themselves.

Returning to the tax rates on the wealthy that were in effect during the 1990's does not KILL anyone. Yes Bush has KILLED almost 4,000 of our troops and injured 29,000 more. The second S-Chip Bill lowered the income level to $63,000 and eliminated illegals. That was not good enough for George W. Scrooge. He is an EVIL man that has shown that even a great republic like ours can allow a despot like GWB to come to power!

People that make $63,000 should not be included with this bill.  Once again it's a poor attempt by democrats to make more of a political play with this.

The economy was far better in the 1990's and the distribution of wealth was not as skewed to the rich as today. We need to return to those tax rates for the wealthy!

This is such a telling article because it demonstrates the extreme socialist point of view: politicans can show their generosity by spending tax payer money.

There's nothing generous in spending money that has been confiscated at the point of a gun from the public.

The right assumes adults are responsible and can provide for themselves and their families.

I'd be the first to be willing to provide welfare to people who "cannot provide" for themselves and their families in exchange for their sterilization to prevent them from producing more wards of the state.

Bush and the GOP simply don't believe that the federal government has the authority to force citizens to pay for other citizens health care. The government is not paying for anything. Other citizens are.

If I am paying for someone else's kids, I want to know what service those people will do for me in exchange. What exactly does my family get out of paying for some stranger's kid?  I'm all for charity (I am quite confident that I give far more away each year than Gene does).  But forced confiscation of my property is not charity. It's looting.

Gene's fancies himself some sort of noble Robin Hood, though I hesitate to besmirch Robin.

As Gene is quick to point out, we already have too many people behaving irresponsibly & living beyond their means. How will making it even less onerous to behave irresponsibly and live beyond one's means help the situation, exactly? What message would that send to our younger generations?

Once real welfare reform worked (to their horror), people like Gene went into control withdrawal & started looking elsewhere to satisfy their craving - hence, the artificially pumped up "healthcare crisis." May there be enough sane people remaining in the US to save us from the nanny-state liberals of Gene's ilk who would kill us with their faux kindness and never have a clue what went wrong.

CNN Just had a segment about health insurance. They were talking about the reasons why families do not have either ANY coverage or have coverage that does not pay for some medical treatment. The major reason families do not have coverage is COST!!!!! The AVERAGE COST for a family health insurance policy today is $12,000 per year. The Clip said even a family with a $60,000 income can not afford 1/5 of their GROSS income just for medical Insurance premiums! That is WHY the S-CHIP is needed and Bush is EVIL for casting a VETO against Children! He is truly a 21st Century SCROOGE!

Not insurance that would cover most of your medical expenses. I have personal knowledge of the cost of GOOD health insurance. Blue Cross for example in the Philadelphia area is about $900 per month for family coverage! You are the Liar!

Please explain why I should have to pay for someone else's children? You never answer this. What is the legal basis in which my family should be forced to pay for someone else's health insurance?

So now I'm not only expected to pay for the health insurance of others but I'm now being told that I need to pay for "GOOD" health insurance for other people.

The parasite class needs to just get a grip and start taking some responsibility for their lives rather than leeching off the productive class.
