quick question (universe size)

quick question (universe size)

how big can one universe get (how many star systems) cuz i was wondering if in single player you could have more than 8.....just for a VERY long SINGLE PLAYER game. or i was wondering in future testing you could see what people would think about it.

not a lot of people pass through these boards in 40 minutes, even less who know what you're talking about

chances are though that you dont have the right software for notepad, beyond that I dont know what to tell you.

by the way....when i go with notepad to a file...is all decrypted or something....how do i change that

Some files can't be viewed as text, and if you try to open it you get nonsensical junk. Thats my best guess.

That said, as I mentioned elsewhere patience is vital to dealing with forums. It isn't uncommon to take a day or more to get an answer -- on this forum don't bump until at least one full day has passed!

Now, try to describe your problem in a enough detail to clue us in on whats wrong. What file are you opening (and where is it located) using exact names and descriptions insofar as is possible and practicable.

Go to your
\Sins of a Solar Empire\GameInfo folder. There you right click on the file Gameplay.constants. From the submenu you choose open with then choose program then you choose Editor.

The third line of the file you've open reads:
maxShipSlots 2000
change it to any number you want. Then you can save the file and close it. Start Sins and have fun.

Or just download this file and put it into your GameInfo folder. It has the fleet limit changed to 50'000.

And here you have the original for multiplayer and updates to to the game.
