With palms together,
Good Morning All,
Sorry I am so late getting to writing to you this morning. I did a walk early with Judy, then several email replies, then a run alone, then Zen Center for Zazen, then grocery shopping, then more email replies, then made breakfast (veggie omelet) and here I am.
Sometimes we are just so very busy. In these times we can make errors, move too fast, say things too quickly without thinking them through first, but then, there it is, a mindfulness bell.
There are so many of them: one cashier at the grocery store, email conflicts, scheduling issues, everyone wants something.
It really is important to stop and work things through a bit. This morning from the trail-head just before I began my run I called a Zen student who seemed to be having issues with me. No answer. She returned my call just as I was working up a good sweat. I stopped right there in the desert and we talked. It turns out we found a solution right way and cleared much of the air. I picked up my run and felt pretty good about it all. At the grocery store, one cashier and My Little Honey needed the truck. What "should have" taken just a few minutes spread out....I suggested we customers get together with placards and go on strike. Everyone smiled and the cashier thought it was a great idea.
Human contact with an open heart and mind is so important to each of us. Isolated, we completely lose perspective and our ability to be compassionate.
Now, its time for a swim and weight workout.
Be well.
