MV League - Team C Check-in

Hey mumblefratz, I already created a post for our team, but whatever, and since when is thebutterfly on our team, the official posting says its just me, you, and playjeff... I've already started my game, I've saved it... I'm gonna work on it later today... And yes, we need a name... Once we've got the name, I can rig up a sig for it. How do we register at the galactic core anyway?

Sorry, I wasn't around yesterday and didn't see your post, most likely because it isn't in the metaverse forum, but no big deal. Anyway as far as thebutterfly he came late to the other thread asking to play and since we are the only team with 3 players it made sense. I did ask for Neilo to confirm this was OK, but I expect that he will. I don't think we want to get in the business of prohibiting people from playing.

Anyway, since at least this thread is in the right forum we may as well continue to use it. As far as name I'm not particular so if anyone has any strong opinions we may as well go with it.

If no one else has any idea I always liked the "Brothers in Arms" album by Mark Knopfler.

I have a request in about a private forum for each MVL team over at the Core but it's the weekend and I haven't gotten a response yet.

Just go to the Galactic Core and click on Enter Forum. From there you should see a line that says "Welcome Guest ( Log In | Register )". Just click on register and follow the simple directions. All you'll need is an email address. Although it's not required it would make life simpler if you use the same name as the one you use here. That's pretty much all there is to it other than getting accustomed to the layout of the board.

The Butterfly   Well welcome to our team, The team of choice, I would also like to nominate Mumble or Darth as a captain. That is if we need one? I know very little about computers and this is my busy time of year. Brothers in arms? Not much of a Space orientated name, but neither is the A Team   Good luck on the games, and any advice that you find useful will be well... useful

I don't think we need one, everybody plays the same game so there's nothing to decide. A captain was mentioned early on in the original thread but I don't really think anything came of it. I did think it might be needed to select the moderator of the private forum at the Core but I don't think we'll need it for that either.

As far as thebutterfly I did *presume* to put him on our team because we had three and all other teams had four, but this should be confirmed by Neilo. Neilo's in a much different time zone so it may be a bit before we get the confirmation.

I created that other post in the GalCiv II part, I forgot to put it in the metavese part. If we do need a captain I nominate mumble, cause until today i've never been involved in the core and he's got way seniority over the rest of us. Also, thebutterfly, you should check in with neilo and make sure your on our team. As for the name brothers in arms sounds cool, but I think some space aspect should be added like playjeff suggested... Hmm... OH! SPACE BUSTERS!   What do ya think? Too corny?

Well don't think I'm saying "This it it, and we're not changing!" If you have a better idea, go ahead and say it. Also, I'm making a new sig, I don't like the first one... so don't use it.

As long as the name is not rude, I'll go along with anything. Oh, and if we need a team captain, anyone will do - anyone but me that is. I can't even properly quote you other guys in the forum...

I'd just as soon go with Darth as captain. I got plenty of responsibilities to go around. In any case all the captain needs to do is to decide who plays what kind of game when there are multiple victory conditions. When that happens I'd just as soon let everyone else take their preference and I'll take what's left over. In any case you don't need to know anything about the Core or whatever to be captain.

As I said I'm not particular about the name but it does seem that most teams are coming up with a name that's a play on their letter (A team, etc). Perhaps "Cosmos Conquerors" (or Conquerors of the Cosmos) would be fitting as a name for team C. What do folks think?

Anyway if folks can't agree then the captain should just pick a name, it's really no big deal.

As far as private forums at the Core all we need to do is to pick a name and get everyone registered. I'm registered there and so is PlayJeff, but I don't think thebutterfly or Darth_Silhouette are. It's very easy to do just go to the Galactic Core and near the Welcome Guest near the top middle of the page is a link to Register. Just follow the link and follow the directions, all you will need is an email address. Once there it may take a little time to get used to but it's not all that complicated. There are forums and sub-forums and once you know where you want to go it's no big deal. You could always add a link directly to our private area in your favorites. Anyway once thebutterfly and Darth are registered let me know and I'll get the forum set up for us.

BTW Neilo did confirm that the butterfly is on team C.

As for a name. Well if we were all Canadian it could be Crazy Canaucks, but I doubt we all are. So Cosmos Conquerers is fine with me. Any other ideas would be excellent. We may be slow at a name but... I believe we will be steady. I also think Darth should be the captain.

I've registered at the core, and am going to check on my confirmation email once I'm done with this post. As for choosing a team catpain, I guess I could be for the record, but as for who should do what victory condition I think we should just say what condition we're best at and choose accordingly...

I have left confirmation in another thread but i will do so here as well, indeed butterfly is apart of team c. Also @ butterfly, just to confirm the snafu with your character, just continue to use your the_butter_flies as your league character for this season.

Of course, butterfly, if you haven't yet posted the game you submitted as the_butter_flies in the results thread, then it is not official and you may go ahead and play as your new character.

Or if you want a "C' name then:

We are "The Cs"  
Or "Condors"
or "Cape Canaverals"  
or "Cosmo's five"(like Oceans eleven)
or "Conquerers of the cosmos"

But maybe it dosen't have to be starting with a C. i.e. if our name for exmaple is the "Cosmos conquerors". I doubt it will be displayed as: Team C: Cosmos Conquerors or Team D's name as Team D: [Team D's name].

Please include a link to our private forums at the core. Today was my first day at the core and I dont know how to find stuff.

I have experiance at being leader and all that jazz. See, I run my own clan in a two first person shooter games(counter strike and CSF). I doubt It'll be the same thing but I am up for it but I'd just as well go with anyone the majority wants. Besides its not that big of a deal.

As far as captain, your right it really doesn't matter. At this point we seemed to have agreed on Darth so let's just stick with that, to do otherwise merely adds confusion that's not necessary. As mentioned he only needs to make a decision if we all can't agree on which victory condition to shoot for if the round is one with multiple victroy conditions. As I mentioned I'm fine with letting folks take their pick and taking what's left over or of doing a "backup" game.

Also as far as a name I do need that decided to setup the private forum so let's just pick something. There have been a few suggestions in the thread and I don't think it matters all that much so I suggest the the captain (Darth_Silhouette) just strap on a pair and make a decision.

Also keep in mind that it's likely that we won't remain 5 players for all that long. Clearly as people join up there will be a few 5th players scattered throughout the teams until we have enough for another team and then we will be back to four. I'm not even necessarily sure it's to be TP_Scot that moves on to another team when the time arrives. Who goes where is the decision of the commissioner. But in any case we should probably avoid references to 5 in any name for this reason.

Mumble, I registered at the core and my email was right, but I didn't get a confimation email. I made my account Darth Silhouette (No "_" in between)... Is there a way I can redo my email without making a new account to make sure I got it right?

I'm not an admin there so I can't see the email address you used but the account looks like it's all set up. Did you try logging in?

There was another report in one of the other team threads with the same issue but the account worked fine. Give it a try it's probably good to go. If not post here or send me a PM and I'll check into it further.

I have not started my game yet. will try and start one tonight. Good luck to the... whoever Darth picks as our name.

As for a name... The Celestial Crusaders (or Cosmos Crusaders)? Still open for better ideas... And I was also wondering how to make a cool looking sig, is there a certain program that most people use?

As far as the Core it sounds like everyone is set except thebutterfly, as soon as he's in I can get our private forum set up.

As far as the name, just pick something and let's stop going back and forth on this. Sometimes (actually almost all of the time) any decision is better than no decision.

Actually I'm not sure. MarshallONeil did a lot of that stuff he'd be a good one to ask also Macmatt could probably give you a good answer. You'll have to check out the team rosters to see what team either of these are on then you could post something to the team thread.
