no, that's not how the brain works, that's another popular misconception. there really isn't a center of conscious thought in the brain itself - not as opposed to an unconscious or anything. the entire cerebral cortex and large parts of the midbrain are used to create 'consciousness' in any neurologically accurage sense of the word, because they're all interconnected with each other. speech is managed in two specific areas, but those areas need to be highly connected to all the other areas for words to have any meaning. there's no 'executive center' that picks the words and creates sentences, gives orders, or anything like that.

well, no. the previous quote that started this is based on historical analysis of archives and public announcements. i don't know if it was a complete list, but it at least had citations to support its claims in the wikipedia article. wikipedia's really good for both scientific and trivia subjects, of which this is a perfect cross section, and in my experience it'd be unusual for something like that to be left out unless it wasn't supported by historical evidence.

I can prove to you that there are many people that use only 5 or 10 percent of thier brain. Just go to any Fast Food drive through and order more than three items. Do this and you will see that the 10% - 5% brain use theory may have a grain of truth to it.

LOL. That is the truth! I don't think I have ever once gone to a MacDonalds drivethrough and have gotten all the straws, napkins, and sweet and sour sauce packets I ask for!!

well hey, having worked at something close enough (JambaJuice) all i can say is that it's not the individual that isn't using all his/her brain - it's the job. it's so controlled, so automated, and so insulting to your own intelligence, that if you let yourself actually think you'd just be totally disgusted at where you were, what you were doing, and a big chunk of the people barking at you. being stupid is the only thing you really can do, short of being poor (which finally become attractive enough for me to quit one day and just walk away).

Hey I worked at MacDonalds for over a year. It was my first job. I went from there to being a dish washer to being a commissioned Junior Officer in the Coast Guard.

I remember at MacDonalds I only got a 15 cent per hour raise because I "spent too much time in the lobby". We weren't too busy, so I was so insanly bored that I spent every moment when I was not taking orders at the front counter cleaning the lobby. If there was just one dirty tray sitting on top of the trash can I would grab it, clean it, and put another piece of paper over it just to do something. It got so God-awful boring! Of course, I always kept a sharp eye on the counter so I could help customers when they showed up, but the owner didn't like that I guess. She would rather me sit there with nothing to do with my thumb up my ass and let the lobby get really dirty before cleaning it.

a little bit of insight about the corporate world: your boss would rather you be five people than one (but still only earn one paycheck). if you're productive, you get pooped on for not being at your post. if you stick to your post, you get pooped on for not doing stuff during down time. basically, they just need reasons to avoid giving you the money you deserve.

one of the rare pleasures i had was when a customer wanted 'something different' - either because they had grown tired of the standard fare on the menu, or because they realized exactly how unhealthy 2 scoops of highly sweetened sherbert is, or whatever. so sometimes they'd give me really specific requests, and if i saw a problem i'd warn them. if they listened, i'd offer an alternative; if not, i'd make what they wanted and leave them to their devices (never mix mango and soy products; the soy protein bonds to the mango fibres and creates a gritty texture).

but other times they'd have very little idea what they wanted. in that case, i'd tell them what i think would work, and say that if they didn't like it i wouldn't charge them. thankfully the owner lived 1.5 hours away, and the manager was less responsible than me!

actually, the most fun i'd have were on days when me and the asst. lead would buy shots (rum or tequila) from the commissary and we'd make "special" smoothies LOL

But they make those mistakes because they are thinking about somthing else because the job is so booring. If you want a much scarier example of stupidity, just look at some of the cheaper afternoon shows on tv,,,,, and then realise that some people must be giving those shows their full attention and enjoying it!! I just have to wonder what kind of brain surgery i would have to undergo in order to be dumb enough to find some of those shows entertaining???? Now that is scary!

...and then think that there are businesses who target their advertising to that demographic, which means there are people in call centers receiving a constant influx of calls from that demographic across the nation! thier job isn't just boring... it's... it's... it's some kind of torture!

*shudder* worst. job. ever.

hahaha, well not being able to speak english provides some protection! (most call centre staff don't speak english)

But to come to the point .
Mankind from his beginning till his end ( dont know when ) will always make somethin up to say "Hey we are improtant in the universe" they invented gods and beliefs or think they can ascend ( i respect that no offend in any direction ) .Well if yhey wont
they end up being "gaga" or insane . To all what mankind said it knows for sure somebody came some years later and said no it is diffrent . But the truth (for me )
is mankind is nothing in the universe compared to the rest . The other thing is we wont get lost when we die cause that what ure made off mass and the spark off live that moves u is still in the universe it wont leave it . we just dont understand with our shorttime mind where it goes . So my advise is go out enjoy the time you have .Go fishing or what else give u satisfaction . Oh and if mankind would finaly laydown its differces between each other they could realy achive something.

My opinion about ascending is not in the energy wise direction more in the understanding of what we are . so when u made paece with ure self and are satisfied with it that what i would call a way of ascending

Since the planet is being destroyed by pollution, our minds are bombarded with violence (see game and movie industry) the people lose their rights and so on..
humanity will never reach ascension. We wont be able even to colonize Mars we will die in a barren and polluted planet after a 3rd world war.
Thanks to US that push the world in this direction...
Am I pessimist? Probably.. but I was not few years ago now its just obvious the world goes down..
