it wouldnt matter if he had proof that they were going to hit it

the main stream media would have reported it as bush attacking the jet and not trying to stop terriosts

and i am sure some where in the story would have been mentioned the proof

His point is, he's trying to pull in headlines by writing about something that never happened to appeal to his pals at the DU.

I'm starting to have a theory that when we get lefties here, they're the ones who were judged "too fruity" for the DU....because none of the NEW BLOOD (not talking about you regs on this one) has anything remotely resembling a cohesive point.

Maybe I completely misread this, but I thought that the point was simply that the President was in a no-win situation on 9/11. Either the plane could be shot down (and the title of this article would have been the resulting headlines) or the plane could strike--not really a choice I would want to have to make. Unfortunately, from what I read, I'm not sure that there was really time to make such a choice anyway (well at least with the ones that hit the twin towers)--and it is unlikely that you are going to "choose" to take out a plane over one of, if not the world's busiest cities.

So, that's what I read the article to say--which leads me to wonder if I've become so far removed from political thought that giving the President the benefit of the doubt is somehow now a DU position. Seems just the opposite to me...
